Official Russian Election Interference Thread

Would love to see that evidence. I am sure the US government will provide the evidence so that they can shut Wkilieaks up.

Anybody think the CIA will back up what they are saying?

Man I wish conservatives and a lot of Democrats would have been this skeptical about the CIA and our intelligence agencies when Cheney and Bush were claiming Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Maybe we would not have ISIS now and Syria wouldn't be a blood bath and we would not have had to make a deal with Iran.

Cliffs on this story? Is this a thing or just another Dem coping mechanism?

Both. It is a thing, but it ain't why Hillary lost, deplorable as that was.

Prepare yourself, though... by mid-2017, the media narrative will have every half-wit in the country (including, sadly, some on here) believing Trump is going to turn over the carrier groups and nukes to Russia in exchange for the rights to build a hotel in Novosibirsk..

I believe if it was a legit threat to the security of the United States, the Obama administration would have stepped up their game well before Friday, December 16 2016. There is no way I can wrap my mind around them being *that* asleep at the wheel so I can only conclude they didn't deem it action worthy.

So all the smoke appears to be the opening salvo to make the case that Republicans stole the 2016 election (from state houses to governorships to Congress to the white house).. kinda like how they stole the 2000 election, except replace SCOTUS with evil genius Putin. The Dems will ride it as far as their useful idiots will let them in order to keep the half-wit base fired up....

I am for a proper thorough investigation and for the identification and punishment of any who compromised the nation's cyber security.

So let's let the guy we suspect is working with the enemy do the investigation. Makes a ton of sense. Fuck, we might as well let Tommy Elrod investigate the latest shitshow to come out of our athletic department.

Honest question - have you read that Times article posted a few pages back?

It's fun watching the posters here who pretend they didn't vote for Trump pretending that they are nonplussed about the dumb shit he says and does daily. It's a little safe space for them, a little indemnity blanket they can wrap themselves in. Hilarious

'Cause "Mack.. you wanna take the kids golfing Saturday" and "Hey Walter, do you have investment suggestions for my kid's 529?" don't make for interesting reading...

I dunno, I'd be down for some investment suggestions

Well put.

That would have been a good thing. Now, maybe a little skepticism on your part would be in order.

Skimmed it.

I encourage you to read the entire thing. Put 20 minutes aside, read it and if you still feel the same way (that you need more evidence) then so be it. That article has enough sources, explanations, evidence and it also confirms stories from the plethora of reports that have come out from several sources over the past few months.

If you just can't bring yourself to read something from the New York Times (understandable) then check out the esquire article posted earlier in the thread. Has much of the same information minus screenshots of emails, memos, etc.

He's a troll. That's his entire reason for being here.

So, lets let the people who allowed the Russians to hack and meddle investigate themselves. I predict not guilty and deflection of attention and responsibility to others. Everyone skates and the coping mechanism of credulous followers is properly nourished and assuaged.

The Elrod comparison is absurd.

Cliff notes: basically everyone (CIA, FBI, NSA, foreign intel) are all in agreeement that Russia purposely interfered in our election. Only people who are denying this are the Sean Hannitys of the world. Even Joe Walsh (trump supporter who called on everyone to get their muskets ready if Hillary wins) is going on Twitter tirades saying we need to investigate further. I would say the number of people using it as a coping mechanism for Hillary loss is equal to the number of Trump shills who think this is an entire conspiracy theory designed by IC to discredit Trump.

Thanks. Do you think the people who thought it was absurd that Trump said the election could be rigged now believe Russia rigged the election? I'm not needling you, I'm genuinely asking if the attempt to influence = the dreaded rigging.

Basically, is Trump the President-Elect or not?

Of course he is the PEOTUS. And will be POTUS come Inauguration Day. Doesn't mean that his connections with Russia and the fact Russia WANTED him as President aren't troubling.

Seems like the folks who spent years and millions on BENGHAZI might spare a few minutes and dollars on this issue.

I think it's absurd when Trump claims the election is rigged, obviously insinuating against him without evidence. I don't think it is absurd when pretty much everyone with knowledge of the issue says the election was influenced in general with evidence.

Yes, he's the President-Elect.
