Truck plows into crowd at Christmas street market in Berlin

Spiegel Online reports that the man killed in Milan shouted “Allahu Akbar” when police in the north of the city asked for him to show his id. He then shot at the two policeman. They returned fire, hitting Amri fatally. Germany’s state prosecutor in Karlsruhe is neither confirming nor denying the reports at present. A spokesman there has said that they are in close contact with the Italian authorities.

People who think we should continue to loosen immigration rules so that ISIS operatives from the Middle East can infiltrate this country.....like President Obama and all the liberals on this board....are stone-cold insane. This is inevitably going to lead to more frequent and more disastrous terrorist attacks inside this country.

Look at what is going on around the world today. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what ISIS is trying to do. And some people want to make it easier for them to carry out more deadly attacks in our country? Are you fucking crazy?
 
I don't think we should loosen them and I don't think we should tighten them either. The system we have in place does a great job, any other talk about Muslim registries and bans and such is just fear mongering to people that always need an enemy but are never in danger.
 
Is this was authorities have been able to confirm now regarding the Berlin incident

1 - The killer arrived in Germany as a refugee within the last 12-24 months.

2 - He was detained briefly b/c they thought he might be dangerous and were looking to deport him.

3 - They could not prove who he was - i.e. his name - and so the judge felt compelled to release him.

4 - He later hijacks a truck (killing the driver) and then drives the truck into a crowded market killing at least 11 more people and injuring dozens more.

5 - He escapes and flees to Milan where he gets in a fire fight with two cops. He shoots one before the other kills him.

6 - There is a video that has now been released where he pledges his allegiance to ISIS and vows to slaughter infidel pigs.

Nobody has said loosen the laws, but keep inventing things.
 
I think your question needs to be how many Muslim illegal immigrants are in this country. Your statement about illegal immigrants would matter if we had land borders easily accessible to areas that are majority Islamic and war torn like it exists in Europe. Instead our illegal immigrant population is Catholic and if weren't the enemy of the right would fall right in line with religious conservative thinking.

Don't you think "never" is a really strong word. I could go on about the issues that the community of Somali refugees in Minneapolis face. This is not the only case like this one. And this is not the only issue that group faces. And this is just one community of refugees in one metro area - albeit, one of the largest US refugee communities from one of the most trouble plagued societies on the planet.

you are missing the point: the high number of illegal immigrants in the US highlights the fact that it is relatively easy to enter illegally, a situation that could easily be exploited by dangerous people, just as loose borders and easy immigration have been taken advantage of in Europe
 
So, I guess you want us to ban all Muslims from entering the US. After all any of them could be the one. It could be a student at Wake or Stanford, or a businessman buying millions of dollars worth of products (and employing 1000s of Americans) or a family going to Disneyland.

It much easier to get in legally than illegally from thousands of miles from the US. Plus, those who enter legally are apt to have more assets to use to attack us. Thus, we should be much more worried about those who enter legally.
 
Exactly, nothing is black and white. We can live in a constant state of fear and security state but the end doesn't justify the means. There are much greater risks out there.

As far as my quantification of people living in fear, it not all but polls show rural America is more scared of Muslim terrorists as well as concerned about illegal immigrants than urban populations. There was also a direct correlation of these people and voting for trump and his tough stance on immigration and Muslims. Digging deeper though the fear wasn't warranted because the most outspoken against these groups were people that were more likely to have never encountered and illegal immigrant or Muslim.

It's actually somewhat surprising with the numbers of European and even Americans going and joining ISIS that the terrorist group hasn't discovered that to crest the most fear you would target random acts in rural America or Europe. Shooting up some local Christmas parade in a town of like 8000 now that would be fear inducing.
