Thread for Actual Actions Taken By Trump - Not All The Stupid Bullshit He Says

Serious post: There's way too strong of a demographic that's just terrified of the middle east after 9/11. trying to get them on board with accepting middle eastern refugees is just a non-starter. Morally you are correct. Politically, it's suicide. Trump playing hardball here scores him political points, so he'll do it. The average american simply doesn't want Syrians moving here. Calling him out on this and claiming the moral high ground simply will lose you the next election as well, it's a bad thing to focus on.

I'm not sure their children will be ashamed. We see people justifying slavery, internment camps, dropping the bomb, segregation. Those children are being taught to rationalize the worst parts of American history. They don't truly understand their history and they are trying to repeat it.

palma is using the post-9/11 justification right now. No question people will be using it in the future.

Blue collar whites glued to their TVs every night have been brainwashed into believing the bogeyman is waiting around every corner for them and their precious little white children. Trump believes it too. They believe they need to be armed to the hilt and put up walls and ban women and children from war torn countries and send their oh so wonderful children in separate schools from the poors, lest they be exposed to other kids who may not be as wonderful.

Bunch of scared, frightened, offended victims.

I had dinner last night with an Argentinian friend. She's not Muslim. She is a green card holder and married to my US citizen friend. Immigration has advised her not to take a planned vacation to Mexico. WTF
 
My son's Taekwondo instructor is Iranian, moved here in the past 2 years after marrying Iranian-American women. He lives here legally, owns a small business, has a 2nd job, pays taxes. Can't leave US now or else he won't be able to return. Family in Iran can't visit.

Pathetic and shameful.
