Were you getting scores from the same bureau or one of those kinda fake credit report sites? I find it impossible to believe that leaving a small balance on your CC leads to a 30 point gain with all other factors consistent.

I was ordering the 3 report/score through Equifax. I found it hard to believe too, which is why I tested it. Between the 1 month of interest and ordering the report twice (prolly best to leave the balance for 2 months so you make sure you catch it on all 3 where it shows there's a balance), you can find out for less than $100.

granted, you were checking one bureau and i guess we have to take it at face value but a 30 point swing is enormous and seems impossible for the time period you're talking

I suggest just having spectacular credit so you don't have to pay interest to play games with your score. #worksforme

I had this exact conversation with someone at Chase within the last six weeks and they said that not paying off your balance in full each month to help your score is a myth but likely stems from a simple misunderstanding. That is, you don't want to pay off your credit card as you go (that is if you spend $50 in a week within the billing cycle, and pay it off before your statement comes in each month) because it shows you don't carry over a balance - which is one of the factors on your credit score. If you're paying off your card amount after a billing statement though, there's no benefit to your credit score by only paying off 95% of it and letting 5% of it carry over to the next payment period.

Per the Myth Buster article. It seems to indicate that carrying a small balance is better than spending 0 on it. So it seems likely I was comparing it to me not using the card at all. As my utilization jumped from say 0% to 5-10%. But using it and paying it off each month is the best. Using it and paying it off before the cycle ends is bad, as is having it and not using it.

This is a dumb question, but having just recently gotten a second credit card is it okay to just not use the first card at all? Or should I still be using the first card each month to show that there is some utilization of it? I just put everything on the second card I got because the rewards are so much better. I still have the first card but never use it.

Dice Clay bought my buddy and I a drink as a way to get our table at The Rainbow- he had to wait...we didn't...

The bartender at Sloan's wrote and directed the Boondock Saints movies.

Of course, I had a "really" at Sloan's. There was this gorgeous girl who loves basketall and hung out at Sloan's named Kristy. during th NBA playoffs she wasn't there. I asked rock&roll Jimmy (the other bartender) where whe was. He told me she was making a movie. I said something like,"It's great she got a job."

He started laughing at me as did another girl at the bar. Finally she asked,"You didn't know she's Kristy Swanson?"

I didn't. Kristy did come back after finishing the movie and was just as nice and as into bball as ever.

That was my follow-up question to that, don't know. Should be important to know as well.

I guess the bottom line is what's your credit score? Like RTQ said, that's a lot gaming with little return

I got fucked when I consolidated my student loans like 9 years ago in that like one of the Perkins or something was unable to be consolidated and I didn't realize and further Wake or whomever never contacted me for over a year until they were like "bruh, pay me $4k" so I ended up paying it off all at once. So I was dancing around with it back then.

I was told that you should keep one small auto monthly charge on the first card (Spotify, Netflix or something) so that line of credit keeps extending, or whatever.

Had a crab cake sandwich at this little spot in GSO that I recently discovered (MJ's). Super tasty. Had a dope Texas Pete aioli.

Apparently there is some age cutoff at which it's decided that even your most mundane thoughts deserve their own thread.
