new los campesinos album is tiiiiight. first album of theirs that I've really liked since romance is boring, which is an all-timer for me.

it seems like they've gotten a little punkier in the past five years, moved a bit away from twee

Are we gonna talk about the new Dirty Projectors album at some point? It's really tough to listen to, but I feel like there are good (or at least interesting) excerpts of tunes buried in there. I'm just not sure I actually want to bother listening a second time to find out.

New DP album is a poor man's 22, A Million.

I like a couple of songs on the DP album, but if I'm in the mood for DP going forward, hard to imagine I'm not going to put on Magellan instead. Found it a little weird that the entire album is about his breakup with a bandmate. We like your band, dude. Don't make us feel like we have to choose between you and Amber Coffman.

good point. i was just dropping an alternative R&B/indie rock/glitch-hop taek anyways.

Tune-Yards is playing with Sylvan Esso and Wye Oak in some field outside of Pittsboro I've never heard of. This thing where bands keep playing out in the middle of nowhere in Chatham County is getting pretty tired.

thundercat with flying lotus is a good entry point if you've never listened to him before

They're going for the outdoor festival vibe and Shakori Hills is pretty well known -- they host a couple big music festivals every year. A lot more likely to bring in Triad and Charlotte folks, too, probably.
