Official thread about the movie you just saw

I can't figure that movie out. The first few trailers made it seem more in the vein of The Martian, but the last few ads/trailers have tried to move it more into the Alien neighborhood.

It's all Alien(s)/Gravity.

Sadly, no homage to that masterpiece sapce cowboys.

It's entertaining and flows along at a tidy 1:45

Last movie we saw in theater was Get Out and it was really great, as previously discussed on this thread.

Have there been any "must sees" over the last few weeks, or any out in theaters now?

Creamy, do you order "extra" butter with your tub of popcorn?

We wasted our afternoon with a free babysitter (sister) to go see beauty and the beast which as previously noted was identical to the cartoon.

I fully recognize that it's bad, but I don't think it's Usual Suspects/Pulp Fiction/Matrix bad.

It's worse

There’s a reason why we’re all still hooked on ‘Trainspotting’ – as Begbie might have put it, it’s pure fuckin’ brilliant. Danny Boyle trimmed down Irvine Welsh’s sprawling novel into a manically wired hallucinogenic caper. But it’s easy to forget that for all its quotable screenplay, banging soundtrack and stylised camera work, ‘Trainspotting’ packs a serious emotional punch. ‘First it’s fun, then it isn’t, then it’s hell,’ said John Cooper Clarke on the subject of heroin, and ‘Trainspotting’ charts that course like no other film. Rented Passengers from the Redbox.

It takes one decent philosophical question, stays moderately entertaining, but ultimately blows the third act and generates little payoff.

I thought Passengers suuuuuucked. Too many plot holes in the premise and just didnt really deliver. If you can get Pratt and JLaw on screen together you just let them go at it, which isnt really what happened.
