how dominant is Faado?

enough to consider starting Sellers in game 1, hope for an unlikely win but figure that Roberts and Johnstone would then be favored in games 2&3?

Nope. Especially on the road, you do whatever you can to get to 1-0.

All it takes is for one team to fall in love with Roberts, and he could go higher in the draft; he throws mid-90s with a nasty breaking pitch.

As for Florida, Faedo is their Friday night pitcher, but their Sunday starter Jackson Kowar is 12-0 on the year. Florida has 3 solid starters (their Saturday starter Brady Singer went 7-5, but had a better ERA/WHIP than Kowar).

to be clear I would only advocate that strategy if UF had a huge disparity between #1 and #2, which they do not

we just need a walk or error and then one mistake to the heart of the WF order...

Wasn't Schwarz touted as a potential #1 overall a year or two ago?

Florida has another David Lee, thought that was funny.

Kowar is a sophomore from Charlotte.

Baseball America just issued its top 500 prospects for Monday's MLB draft, and here are the revised rankings for the Deacs:

#44 Stuart Fairchild (early 2nd round)
#66 Gavin Sheers (late 2nd round - there are compensation picks between the first and second rounds which push the end of 2nd round to about pick #70)
#218 Griffin Roberts (about 6th round)
#262 Donnie Sellers (7th-8th round)

Would also expect, Dunshee, Johnstone, Pryor and Breazeale to be drafted as well.

WF recruit Michael Ludowig is rated #444.

FWIW, Florida has:

#10 RHP Alex Faado
#169 SS Dalton Guthrie
#176 C Michael Rivera
#375 C JJ Schwarz
#433 C Mark Kolosvary (yes, the Gators have 3 catchers in the top 500)

would love if roberts opts to return to school and is our ace next year. i actually think that could help his stock.

i'm assuming steel is gonna be picked as well, guy who can stick at shortstop who has pop and will take a walk.

Anyone looked at their park ? I see it's scheduled for major renovations and from the current pics it needs it. Would be the worst facility in the ACC by far.

Have you seen BC's park? My high schools was nicer. Pitt, Notre Dame and Duke also all have worse looking ballparks than Florida.

I had never seen BC's park before. It literally looks like a little league field.

It's awful. Bc fans literally watch from a parking deck. Visiting fans sit in movable bleachers with less seating than my high school field....and my high school had less than 150 students.

Is anyone going this weekend? I am going saturday at minimum and would like to sit next to other deacs so was wondering what section people were buying tickets in

Will be down in Central FL for the weekend for a family reunion. Don't really have an itinerary yet, but if we are done Sunday morning, as I hope, I'll drive up to Gainesville for the Sunday game.

reading gamecock message boards for immediate reaction and its lukewarm at best for Tom Walters. TCU coach is number one message board pick but not sure he would leave TCU.

In the Columbia State, Walter is one of 10 names mentioned and is down the list. The expectation in Columbia is to go to Omaha on an annual basis. Also, Ray literally looms large and always will. Ray is not a bad guy, but it is his program. On paper, Walter deserves to be a candidate for any major opening. Also, on paper, and probably in actuality, he can be in his dream job here for the rest of his career.
