Accidentally cut the extension cord with the hedge trimmer on Saturday. Cut off power to the shed, including two lights and two outlets (including the one the cord was plugged into). Breaker did not trip. I tripped every GFCI outlet I could find in the house and still didn't get power back to the shed. Next steps ?

I've got an electrician coming out in a few weeks anyway to do some work in the basement. I can definitely just let it ride without risking electrocution.

ETA: I already tried putting my dick in each of the outlets and it didn't help, so no need to suggest that.

Maybe you have another outlet on that circuit you're not thinking of, like exterior or garage outlets?

Sucks. When it happened to me before I ended up finding the offending outlet tucked in the corner of my garage.

did you try resetting the breakers even if they didn't appear tripped? I know that sounds weird but before I had my box replaced, occasionally the old breakers would trip but not snap all the way to 'off/orange'.

Yes I had that happen just last week. I couldn't see which one was tripped, so I reset all of them and it came back on.

The breaker is labeled and I tried resetting it to no avail. Tried a couple of others for shits and giggles.

Sounds like you might have a GFI outlet that didnt reset properly. Or it could have gone completely and burned open. May need to replace rhe GFI

Yep. I'd check this first.

Look for a tripped GFI outlet- usually a red button to reset it.

Finally found the right GFCI outlet. Didn't even know it existed. Problem solved. But only after I had checked the breaker at the panel.

Builders like to put GFCI outlets in strange places. Also do strange connections between GFCI and regular outlets.

Hardwood floor refinishing is almost complete (final coat of sealant goes on today). Damn, what a difference it makes! Can't wait to spruce things up with fresh paint now... as soon as we can agree on colors. Surely that will be easy.
