Definitely roll the dice. He's a great player.

For posterity, some guesses on maxes - mine: Oliver (6) 12 teams, Biles (73) 4 , Garey (UR) 3 . Not mine: Pribble (1) 25 , Flores (2) 18 , Boucher (39 - Stillwater dropped) 6.

The bad news: my guesses were way off.
The good news: recruiting is in good shape. Oliver: 7/7, Biles 1/1, Garey Cl. In the net, I have a 0/0, two 0/x, and 5 ties at 15 or 16.
I'll be on:
Oliver (scoring has fallen off, and its not great value but we have the points to spend...not sure what to expect with the new scouting system but, best guess: 6'6 ggggfg)
Biles (6'6 gfefgf? on a killer hs team w/ a stud pg, not sure what to make of his stats)
Garey (looks pretty similar to Oliver overall, thrilled to have him as a Cl: 6'6 gggggf. SF ideally though may be forced into PF or even an undersized C)
Michael Landon r29 net 0/0 ( e sct: 6'8 GFff(f)G, looks like def or hands could bump though. Frontcourt bench scorer most likely.)
Bradley Copeland r5 net 0/3 (6'8 fggggf?, interested to see how this plays out he's e+ win and I lead three top 40 teams for his services. Going to max him the rest of the way.)

Definitely wishing I'd been a bit more aggressive as a couple netters I considered bumping to 32 but chickened out on would have been leads for me (11 Parker, 17 Norris). We should land a nice class regardless.

Overall, I'm a bit confused by the outcome in recruiting. The higher end maxes weren't nearly as contested as I expected, but the net wasn't as competitive as I remember league 5 being (granted, that was several years ago so I'm not sure how much I can trust my memory). I suppose that means I just badly overestimated the amount of maxes that were out there, but the points still have to end up somewhere.

Recruiting was a mixed bag. Have a 0/1 on a 6'8 big in Nikola Rouse who is G scouted FEGGF_ which would be really useful. Other maxes were 4/4, 4/4, and 1/1. Net was pretty bad with only 2 options that I'm not really sure of they are even worth risking the points on. I'm probably the favorite for the 1/1 who will replace some scoring punch I need so I'll probably roll the dice this year and see if I can find someone else in the net as the season progresses.

I'll post the player and teams on them probably Monday or Tuesday when I get back home.

After dropping #4 Logan Jones a week ago, I ended up with four maxes:

#23 Dennis Butterfield is a 5/5. I am unlikely to get him due to his G local, but whatever. He is my platonic ideal of a player (I basically only recruit E DEF and E ATH).

Alexander Floyd is a 1/1 against Odessa. He's F+/F/F and neither of us are local. So toss up? He could be a good pass first point guard.

The two guys I promoted from the net I have clear leads on, and will be Spoonbills unless I hit the lottery above:

James McNichols is an athletic 6'11" shot blocker and rebounder and G+ ATH, E- DEF, E+ REB. He's also a moron who can't score. That's fine, he will be useful.
Matthew Maddox is an E- athlete and E+ defender. Not much else to write home about, but he'll be in the rotation.

I hate you all.

Recruiting is in shambles. Any help is appreciated.

So how did Pribble and other elite studs come out in the reveal? Horror stories?

So how did Pribble and other elite studs come out in the reveal? Horror stories?

Not really. Logan Jones and Jaden Toler (who I accidentally maxed against prefs somehow) are both 9/9s, which is about what I expected. Terrell Persico, who's probably the best local+ recruit in my region, is a 4/4.

Cheyenne Villains 74
San Antonio Horror 76

we were able to scrape by Cheyenne on the back of my SR PF Andrew Cannon with 18pts. we also had a big game from my SR bC Kyle Outen, that came in due to foul trouble, with 20pts and 5rbs. finally getting to keep TOs under 10pg (average 13.2TOpg). need to figure out how to shoot better...sigh.

we moved to 5-5 (4-1)

recruiting sucked...

Spencer Carver (22) - 6/6
Colby Melanson (69) - 3/3
Raymond Rose (NL) - 1/1

net is in shambles, only one lead and one guy to move on (let's see if one of the other 12 at 15/16 rpe moved on him as well)...this rebuild will be a slow one. got stung by the curse of the solo max.

not ashamed for any recruit charity out there...anyone...anyone...sigh

Flagstaff has gone into the tank after that 3 OT loss. We have now lost 3 straight and are floundering. Time to see what a few cupcakes and coaching moves will do for the squad....

Definitely roll the dice. He's a great player.

I did/Will. Would be a nice get, though I am planning on it not happeneing:

Amarillo's Maxes:
Juan Flores (2) 11/11
Frank Riddle (61) 1/1
Hugh Maly CL
Matthew Cox CL
Logan Gwynn 1/4

Not sure what order I'll place them outside of Flores #1.

That's impressive. Hope they pan out.

I maxed four nets. I'm behind on all but one.

Myrtle Beach Bullish Deacs 75, Clemson Kings 61

Quality win here. I moved 6-7 Sr GEPFGG from SG to PF. I decided to risk the lack of rebounding at PF to have a legit post scorer. He had 11 and 10 with 5 blks.

16 pts, 16 reb, 4 stl, 3 reb at PF for Ryan Brown against Top 25 Daytona. Grant Dundas, the 6-6 So FGEGEG I had at PF had 12 ast at SF.

Any word on Exhibitions coming back?

Arlington Chinchillas 64
San Antonio Horror 82

San Antonio won the battle of the 5-1 conference records to move to a shocking 6-1 in conference and 6-5 total. my expected Conference 24 POY SR PF Andrew Cannon lead the way with 22 pts and 9 rbs. in fact it was our first game with four players over 10 points. in all honesty, it might have been our first with three players in double figure scoring...it is not our strong suit.

recruiting is in some sort of trouble, but i will see what i can do with this class. all maxes were ties, some were quite large comparably for the rest of the league. just bad luck i guess.

we will see if we can win our first OOC game on friday.

Cincy prevails in the Conference 16 Deacfest is a barnburner over the Iron Deacs from St. Louis. Iron Deacs center went OFF, 11-12 from the field, 25 points, 7 boards - the rest of his team was 19-51, which was the real difference.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati somehow has 5 wins on the season with a whole bunch of nothing, no one averages over 13 points, 14 TOs a game, shoot 48% from the field, can't hit a 3 to save my life - pretty sure its my #256 SOS, but whatever, 5 wins is a lot more than I expected from the whole year.

Corpus Christi 83
Amarillo 85

The Nightmare ended a 4 game skid as we re-entered the friendlier confines of non-conference play. (4-1) and pushed ourselves to a conference and division tying 6-5. At the moment all 4 division teams and 6 conference teams are all sitting at 6-5! Just shows how much parity were on lineups to start the league...

FR SG Diego Carlisle led the way with 24 pts pushing his season average to 21ppg.

Another loss for Amarillo, but Recruiting is taking shape.

Juan Flores (2) 8/8 (down from 11)
Hugh Maly CL
Frank Riddle (62) 1/1
Matthew Cox CL
Logan Gwynn 0/1

Looking like a pretty ho-hum rest of the season in Stillwater. Won tonight to break a 5 game losing streak, but we're just not very good. Recruiting looks pretty set: 1/1 Biles, 4/4 Oliver, CL Garey, CL Landon, CL Copeland. Pretty much just waiting for signing day.

1/1 Steven Blount
2/2 Cody McEachern (60)
1/1 Reece Whitney
CL George Markey
2/3 Cameron Howard
1/1 Usher Gregg

I'm behind a few on the last two. I have another I'm far behind on but I'm going to keep points on him.

David Simmons 4/4
Juilius Hemphill 2/2
Jonathan Ingalls 1/1
Glen Venable CL
Joseph Householder 1/1 (-2 RP's)

If I am remembering Gay May's stats correctly, I should sign 2.53 of these recruits.
