In the past when I've done this poll, I've done just regular season wins. This year I will include potential ACC Tournament wins. In other words, on Selection Sunday, how many wins will we have? (so obviously not counting any potential NCAAT or NIT wins and also excluding the exhibition)

Poll closes the day before the exhibition.

For reference, last year the team met or exceeded 88.32% of respondents' expectations.

O/U for me is 19.5, I took the over and went with 20. I'd be very surprised if we don't have at least 9 wins in OOC play with our schedule and then 9-9 in the ACC is pretty realistic. I see 10-2 (9-9) and an ACCT win for 20.

ETA: Damn our OOC is so easy. We don't have a single team that finished in KP top 50 last year on it and that includes every potential early-season tournament matchup.

Hoping we at least split the group of Tennessee, Richmond, Illinois, and Colorado. If we have to play Houston in day 3 of the Paradise Jam, that could be a challenge, too. Other than those games, we should go 7-0 in OOC.

I'm gonna say 21. Think we go 20-10 (10-8), and then a win in the ACCT.

If we don't go at least 10-2 in the non-conf, I'll be disappointed.

12-0 OOC
9-9 ACC
1-1 ACCT

22 wins on Selection Sunday.

Laugh now but I nailed it last season. We'll be better than some think.

Well, I counted the exhibition but missed including the ACC Tourney so I guess I'll just call that an even trade.

I think we will go 11-1 in the OOC, although we should go 12-0. In ACC play, I see us beating Cuse, BC on the road, VT, at State (I'm low on them), one of UVA/Duke/UL, one of FSU/Clemson, one of Miami/Cuse/Pitt on the road, GT at home, State at home, one of ND/GT. That's 10-8. Then another game in the ACC Tournament, and we're at 22 wins. We make the tournament, and keep recruiting momentum.

We should go 12-0 OOC. 11-1 should be the floor. Anything less than that points towards conference play being a disaster.

I'm real pumped to see Melo/Chaundeac/Sarr.

November 3 cannot get here soon enough.

12-0 OOC
9-9 ACC
1-1 ACCT

22 wins on Selection Sunday.

I’m in on this. I’m gonna guess 21-22 wins this year. Agree we will better than most think

This team is tougher to pick than others die to not knowing what we'll get from the bigs. We'll be strong at 1/2/3, but 4/5 is a total crapshoot.

If the light comes on for Doral or Sam we could be very good. I think it will take Sarr a bit to get used to the speed and physicality of the ACC and American game.

I'm gonna need a number.

Also, I agree. Would add that conference play is a crapshoot this year for a number of reasons. Question marks with a ton of ACC teams.

I'm changing my my prediction to 11-1 OOC. 10-8 ACC 1-1 ACCT to stay at 22 wins

We will struggle through the first half of ACC season going 4-5. The 4 we win will be: Cuse, @BC, Va Tech, @State...We'll lose another close one to Duke in W-S.

We'll finish strong at 6-3 only losing to: @Miami, @Cuse, @ Ga Tech

I only have us losing to UVA and Duke in W-S.

Is UVA expected to be good this year? I get it, Bennett's defense, but they were really, I mean really, struggling to score the ball at the end of last year, and they lost Perrantes.

I agree, a lot of teams in the conference are vastly different this year with all the pro departures.

Isn’t that PF from Cuse gone? We should be much better than them

They also lost Marial Shayok, Darius Thompson and Jarred Reuter to transfer. Shayok was their second leading scorer last year, after Perrantes. Thompson was a rotational player, who was second on the team in assists. Reuter's transfer should be no big deal, since he was a marginal player.

The UVa fans that I have talked to are claiming that Shayok and Thompson transferred because they were going to lose playing time with the additions of DeAndre Hunter and Jay Huff. Hunter and Huff were both 4* recruits coming out of HS, that were redshirted by UVa last year.

I don't buy it.

edit: UVa also added Nigel Robinson, a grad transfer from Rutgers. Averaged 11.3 PPG last year
