Official Russian Election Interference Thread

"Page was eager for the committee’s attention earlier this year, when he showed up of his own volition to the panel’s secure office spaces on Capitol Hill to drop off a document he created alleging that he was the target of a smear campaign by Hillary Clinton’s aides. Clinton and her associates, Page alleged in his document — which he also shopped around to news organizations — were committing a hate crime against him by planting false stories about his ties to Russia, Page said. He was being targeted, he wrote in the document, because he was a Catholic male."

Wow. This dude is a nut.

It sounds like he is spreading fake news, about fake news being spread about himself, to piss off white catholic males...

‘Lost an election?’ Russian news outlet to remove D.C. ads that seem to reference Clinton’s defeat.

This comment is rich....

“The war the US establishment wages with our journalists is dedicated to all the starry-eyed idealists who still believe in freedom of speech,” RT Editor in Chief Margarita Simonyan said at the time. “Those who invented it, have buried it.”

They're getting cocky.

This is a good read.

Robert Mueller can’t save us

"Trump's disrespect for institutions is also a disrespect for the moral systems they represent. His repeated efforts to interfere with the independence of the Justice Department are a declaration that right and wrong, legal and illegal are whatever he says they are. This stance is an outgrowth of his flexible relationship with truth — his willingness to say anything and contradict himself moments later, with no expectation of consequence. Mueller is an avatar of our hope that justice and meaning will reassert themselves against Trumpian insincerity."

...

"It is comforting to reduce the mess of our politics to a clash between the opposing deities of Mueller and Trump. But doing so is also a way to avoid grappling with more difficult problems: What does it mean to have a president who behaves this way? What forces carried him into office, and how do we as a country address them? These are not questions that an official investigation can answer. Ultimately, we imagine Mueller as a white knight because it's easier than taking responsibility for confronting this presidency ourselves."

Yep. I've said it here before. He is, in his own mind, naturally a god. He is not merely the arbiter of truth but its creator. Any dissent from his (the) truth is fake truth.

Yep, as will we all soon enough.

His closeness to death seems to have made the man politician free(er) to tell it like it is.

Soon he will be food for worms

yeah, that is fucked up. this guy has done more for the Rep party and this country and now you act like he is a pariah. he was a POW, a GOP presidential candidate...inexcusable.

meanwhile you have your panties in a wad because football players are kneeling during the anthem in peaceful protest because a draft dodging, trust fund, horrible businessman, horrible person, flip flopping...a real POS told you to.

think for yourself...
