It's a ghost town downtown today. Yesterday morning going into the office I was one of three people on the T from my stop to work - normally it's absolutely packed. Contributing to this I imagine is the fact that it was 5 degrees and felt like -14 this morning when I left.

Sounds like you lost the war on Christmas.

The zip code with the four extra digits seems unnecessary in all circumstances.

For laypeople and ASD'BCers, perhaps. But I think it's pretty useful for delivery people.

Cantina and Vida are good for Mexican uptown.

Do not go to Rusan.

Oku is great but is a quick Uber or light rail trip.
Check out Room 112 for uptown sushi.

Eat reservations for four that I still see available tonight and tomorrow uptown are at Halcyon. Carpe Diem available on Elizabeth Ave which is a free trolley ride.

On OpenTable.

I’m eating at Customshop tonight and going to the party at Founders Hall.

Wish I could see my wake friends but it's kinda hard pulling the trigger on dropping 3-4K to go from 75 degree weather to 35 degree weather. Flights are too expensive.

It would have cost considerably less for me but I have to admit weather played a factor.

I’ll be up for Homecoming next season too.

I’m sad to be missing the bowl game but not sad about not being outside in the cold. I’ll work from home tomorrow and stay warm and be a little sad.

Okay CTers, I’d like to have a voice activated (Alexa enabled, I reckon) Bluetooth speaker as well as one or two other speakers in different rooms in my house that can all play the same music at the same time. Any recs on the best way to achieve this setup?

I’d like for the whole deal to cost ~300 if that’s possible without getting junk.

Look into Sonos (no idea the cost though)

Yeah 3-4k would've been a deal breaker. All expenses included, I'll be making the trip for under $750 I reckon (maybe more if we go out hard after the game Friday)

I’m super sad to be missing the game tomorrow. I was born in College Station and grew up an Aggie, and they were my A team until I started at Wake. Never thought this matchup would ever happen.

Does that include your reservation for two at the $300 prix fixe mid-tier restaurant?

I'll miss the game, sure.

But I'll really miss the tailgate. There are going to be some epic setups.

I guess I’m a rube but the idea of spending $300 routinely on a meal for two is foreign to me.

Looks like Vida may be booked (?), so we could hit Cantina 1511.

I have no idea what bowl stuff is happening tonight. Where will the Wake crowd be? Want to make sure we stay far away.

Yeah I'm confused. At most of the local "nice" restaurants we like, it might be ~$15 for an app to split, ~$30 per entree, ~$50 on wine/beer/cocktails, +20% tip = $150. How do you possibly spend $300 on a mid-tier restaurant?

I'm at the age where most of my Wake friends have small children, so it's just locals and a couple of diehard football guys who I'm attending with. Rubbins came close, but is busy saving the world or some such shit.
