Danny Manning Credibility Watch

ETSU is a better team than UNCG this year at this point. Last year it was a coin flip with UNCG winning both regular season matchups but losing the tourney final.

This is year 3 for Forbes who inherited a good roster. But, ok, we'll go with your narrative.

I do think Forbes is a good coach. We need to hire a 35 year old good one who will stay if he wins. Not Prosser/Tacy/Staak old dude again at Wake. Take a chance on someone in their 30s ala K, Knight, Smith, Mack, Izzo

Steve Forbes is going to be a heck of a coach for a bigger program than ETSU in the near future. But it won't be at Wake Forest because Manning is not getting fired after this season, so it's not worth even discussing.

I don't give a shit about someone's age. I get the idea of hiring a young up and comer, but I think you hire the best person for the job, period. If someone "wins quickly" at Wake and leaves, that's fine by me. Would only help to elevate the job... I mean, it's been almost a decade since any coach has shown you can win at Wake (and even that 2009 season ended with a whimper).

I have enjoyed watching Forbes in the 4-5 times i've watched him live playing UNCG. He is very active over there. Obviously has put together some good pieces. Great background. I'm not taking anything away from him. He will get a big job and well he should.

Will be another excellent game Monday night between Forbes & Miller's team in Greensboro--for those in the area who actually watch basketball. (Sorry, RJ, you haven't been to a game in a decade--your posts are cute and all but no)

I am totally down with a coach winning quickly and leaving, although it is unlikely, and there is zero historical precedence for this happening at wake. If a coach can get a higher tier job than Wake based off of his performances here, then good things happened.

Never go full Ginger.

I forgot to say one more thing about Forbes. He appears to know the college basketball rules. (unlike Manning)

What's funny is that ageism in the hiring process is illegal (for people over 40). You'd think such an esteemed bathroom lawyer as DR would know that!

I don't always take advice from people about winning, but when i do it's from people that rent out double wides.

The arena we play in his no real impact on our success. It's a dumb argument and has always been a dumb argument.

The fact that Villanova was once used as an example to support this argument when they play all of their games in a pro coliseum 30 minutes from campus should put that stinker to rest.

Dude hot chicks fuck him for his money so he knows what he is talking about, stand down.

Getting laid by hot chicks without money is much more impressive.

Tacy was 39 when Wake hired him. Staak was 38.

Let's recap:

Tried to force change at Wake by getting everyone to overthrow Wellman.

Significant majority of broke, married alums made fun of me for making a shit pot full of money and banging chicks.

UVA, Duke, UNC kept winning for 2 more decades and all enjoyed being a team. Wake alums kept losing and getting their pathetic income quartered in their 2nd divorces.

Nice.

I give this a 4/10 on the troll meter. You can do better DR.
