2017-18 Men's College Basketball Thread (NWT)

Losing to Houston by 5 may be our best moral victory of the year. Cougars are 20-5, #23 kenpom, and beat #5 Cincinnati.

Unfortunately we wouldn't know what that feels like here at the bottom 1/3 of the ACC.:(

Looking at the ACC standings paints a pretty grim picture of the pecking order. The ACC is wide open this year (minus UVA who is really good) and we might have to play the play-in game to the ACC Tourney.

If the first round are considered "play-in games" there are 3 this year (and have been for awhile) not one "play-in game", the six teams seeded #10 through #15 all play the first day (#10 v. #15, #11 v. #14 and #12 v. #13), and it's a lock that WF will be playing a first round game.

We have played on the opening day of the ACC Tournament every year this decade.

Pretty much. Not the best of luck to run into a team like that in the 5th-place game of the Paradise Jam Invitational

If we can somehow play our way into that 12/13 game, I like our chances of making a run to the semis!

The HOPE!

Are you thinking Clemson finishes in 4th? Game on Sunday will have a big say in that

I just meant that I'd like to avoid UVA & Duke for as long as possible. Nobody else seems like a monumental upset for us (though Louisville seems like a bad matchup).

Given GT's attrition and Pitt's non-competitiveness, the lucky #13 seed appears the most likely WF landing spot (this will require a road win at GT, which is perhaps a bad assumption).

We can do this! 15-16

LOL. Our season will be long over before UVA and Duke hit the court for their first ACC tourney game.

Could see Louisville losing out -- @ Duke, @ VT, vs UVa, @ State. They'd be an interesting bubble team as their only really good win was @ FSU

Flipping channels before going to be bed ... flip over to ESPN and Oregon and UCLA are on with Bill Walton babbling about all sorts or nonsense... and all of a sudden he makes a Rodney Rogers reference. I guess we was talking about McIntosh from Oregon and who he reminds him of. Said something about raw strength. I had to rewind it to make sure he actually said "Rodney Rogers". And he did.
