2017-18 Men's College Basketball Thread (NWT)

Man did old Swoff arrange an easy trip to the final four for unc or what? That is a frigging joke!!

How did they get a 2 seed and basically a home game in Charlotte? They lost 10 games this year.

Kentucky had 10 losses, won their conference tournament, and had one sub 50 loss at South Carolina. They're a 5 seed.

UNC had 10 losses, lost their conference tournament, and had four sub 50 losses one of them being Wofford at home. They're a 2 seed.

Not many very good teams this year, lotta parity. Should make for a wacky tournament.

It doesn't just matter who you lose to, it matters who you beat as well. Kentucky had 4 quadrant 1 wins, UNC had 14 (most in the country). Only 4 teams had double-digit Q1 wins.

UNC is the #5 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Top 2 seed.

They were the #6 seed in the ACC Tournament

Well they were actually in a 4 way tie for 3rd in the ACC. Not sure ACCT seeding is a relevant measure.

Not 3 seeds of difference.

You had a strong argument for a #4 seed, #16 RPI, certainly should have been higher than Texas Tech (#21 RPI) in my opinion. Having a Sunday tournament final I'm sure hurt the SEC and the ability of Kentucky (or Tennessee, if they had won) to move up the bracket.

Also, looks like the NCAA wanted a nice little "Wildcats vs. Wildcats" round 2 storyline, much like your marquee draw with Indiana 2 years ago in the 4/5 game.

If K gets his shit together and dumps his awful zone, the Midwest will be absolutely brutal.

The only tough game, UVA will have before the Final 4 is AZ.

Ugh, Duke's defense was ranked in the 70s earlier in the year when they were playing man. They've been top 5 in defense since going to the zone.

So a coach is allowed to change his defensive scheme when he finds out his original plan is not working?

Ya'll talking about unc's cupcake region, but Michigan is playing very well lately, and are well coached. Of all the 3 seeds, Michigan is who I would want for the holes. And if they get to the sweet sixteen, it will be in LA. Now if they were put in the Atlanta region and UVA shipped out west.....

Carolina had a much more impressive resume. Carolina also had to play Syracuse, Miami, Duke, and Virginia in the ACC tournament, where Kentucky had Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

lol

So coach k shouldn't drop the zone?

Bagley is going to a problem in the tourne

I think this is UVa's year to get to the final four
