BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

Instilling a lot of confidence in your TWO incoming PG recruits that you want to go and recruit a 3rd PG the moment Crawford bolts. And I thought Creamy said the staff had moved on from Crawford since last year? Doesn't sound like it.

three incoming PG or CG players including the 2-year grad transfer

I guess Wright Jr can be considered a CG but I don't envision him being a primary ball handler in any possible lineup we may have in his time at Wake - so I'd classify him as a wing 2/3.

Seems like we are just trying to get as much talent in the door as possible. Given our current depth, I can't blame the staff. A 4-star, top 125 recruit would be one of our more "talented" players on the roster.

Fify. The last thing I'm worried about at this point is having too many guys stay all 4 years. If he wants to be a Deac and will play hard, bring him on!

So, we're now recruiting State and Northwestern rejects.

Wright was considered a PG when he committed.

I told everyone here that Craw would be gone after the season and I stuck by that throughout, despite being mocked. I never said he was going to the league, but I knew he wouldn't be back. As far as the staff is concerned, they are trying to fill out a roster. We are stacked with wing players but it wouldn't hurt to snag another PG who they believe could help us out.

Yes, I talked to his dad and he said he was recruited to ply anywhere between the 1-3. Again, I’d be shocked if he is the primary ball handler on the floor for us.

This is more about trying to get a quality guard on the team that will be needed eventually. May also say something about how confident the staff is about landing a PG in the 19 class. Jamie Lewis is an enigma. Wake won't know what he might be until he has played in at least one game. He will certainly be rusty, because he hasn't played in a game in two years, and he has had a lot of medical issues to deal with since he last played.

Seems even weirder that GT would be involved given soph PG Alvarado and frosh PG Devoe.

But I guess when you suck, you go to best available.

It's true. You serve the creamiest scoops.

Wouldn't hurt to get another big if a decent one is available. Or even a project for Danny to work with.

Only if Lorng isn’t on the roster.

Josh Nickleberry committed to Louisville. Wasn’t Manning trying to recruit him?

Recruiting but never having any shot at?

Yes.

Yeah. He was one of the first big names I remember seeing linked with Wake.

Here’s an article from August. He didn’t even mention Louisville.

What about Wake Forest?
Wake. Wake Forest, they've been recruiting me...they were my first ACC. They've been showing love since day one.

So they identified you early?
Yes, they identified me early. They saw something in me when I wasn't really recruited. They've just been on me hard ever since then and I've become a better player, so I feel like they made a good investment in me.
Have you made a lot of un-officials to Wake?
I've been on like three of them...basketball games, campus visits. Nice campus, great school. Great school. Great academics, great academics and stuff like that. All of that.
