Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Commander will kill us all

Do I believe that pragmatic moderate Democrats are often liars, lying about truly wanting progressive change? Lying about the true motivations for their hesistations and compromises? Hell yes.

From Martin Luther King Jr., writing on a scrap of paper in jail after he was snitched on by a group of cowardly fucking white clergy members, who called him an "agitator":

"First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Well I sure as fuck want to raise the taxes of a lot of ogboards posters, take their guns, and regulate their businesses. Against their wishes, most likely. I strongly oppose any politician that doesn't want to do that.

What total BS!

You can make incremental progress and then kick the door down. Get $15/hour in a bunch of places; reinforce ACA and then expand it; fight for gender/marriage/orientation equality and others follow, etc.

If we refused to take the SC decision on marriage equality until all state laws that create legal discrimination against the LGBTQ community are gone, we'd not have marriage equality and there would be more discrimination laws.

Not getting 100% of what you want doesn't mean not getting any of what you want.

Your position not only doesn't get anything done. It creates more barriers to reaching your goals.

Your unrealistic votes and actions helped elect W and Trump.

Stop claiming to be a progressive and supporting shitty establishment candidates. Stop defending the establishments resistance to progressive candidates. Hold these motherfuckers accountable to their party platform. Get your head out of the fucking ground and recognize that the status quo is unacceptable.
 
Status quo is Trump, and a Pub house and senate. Thinking like yours helped put them all there. I will keep reminding you of that.

That's not what I said earlier. If you throw away your vote on people whop can't win, it's effectively voting for the Republican.
