So we agree that "progressive" means whatever you want it to mean, it's entirely subjective. Deregulating banks is progressive. Making it a hate crime to resist arrest is progressive. Every business is a small business and also a person with religious liberty. Whatever you need to tell yourself to maintain the facade of being an educated successful liberal.

I mean, do y'all support these votes? While I don't know enough about the issues to weigh in on the sex workers bill, banking deregulation, Pompeo/Haspell, Blue Lives Matter, war, etc. have been pretty controversial votes according to mainstream left press.
No, I don't, but those are outliers.
Would I accept Manchin voting for one or two things I oppose if it means he'll be there for six more years supporting 90% of what I support versus having someone in his seat who supports 5% of what I believe in? The choice is simple.
The same is true with Heidkamp and Tester.

You believing that Manchin and Heitkamp literally represent your progressive viewpoints 95% of the time just tells me you are very uninformed or very conservative. Joe Manchin regularly threatens to join the Republican party. To be absolutely clear, the divide between leftists and mainstream moderates is over much much more than 5%.
I know you like to speak in abstracts to avoid the reality of politics, but who in the fuck is 5% away from Medicare, or 5% away from a living wage? 5% from the abolishment of cash bail? None of these fucking trash corporate Democrats are "5%" away from being good progressives.

1. Only reviews West Virginia politics in relation to a single presidential election
2. Generalizes legislative choices as with or against a president.
What type of conservative is Manchin? In what areas does his constituency support Trump? Because West Virginia voted for Trump, we're supposed to excuse any and every way that Manchin votes with Trump? When Trump does a big racism, is it ok for Joe Manchin to also do a big racism?

No but I don’t expect anybody to agree with me 100% of the time. Any party of reasonable people will be a continuum.
The solution is to get a strong Dem majority and those furthest to the left will be pressured to either not vote with Republicans or their votes with Pubs won’t matter.
No reason for political better phans.

Why don't you visit all the gofundme web sites for cancer patients and gun shot victims, begging for help, and let them know that their complaints about the health insurance industry are why Trump won. First of all, I said 90% not 95%. You can't change what I said to fit your needs.
It's not 10% of each issue. It's 10% of the time.
BTW, Manchin vote to keep ACA from being destroyed. Manchin supports raising the minimum wage. He isn't for a flat $15/hr for every state but using the buying power of that amount for states that have lower costs of living. It's not everything we'd want, but it's a lot more than we have. But you'd throw this away.
So, you'd rather have radical RWers with Trump in the WH than Dems who aren't progressive enough for you? That guarantees there's no chance of anything you want happening.
At this point voting for a Green or Progressive or Socialist Party or other left candidate in many places is 100% a vote for the Republican candidate. If you throw away your vote on someone who can't win, you guarantee the radical right agenda passing.
Just don't whine, cry, biotch about it. You are helping kill the voting rights of millions of Americans. Your vote helps take away healthcare from millions of Americans.
The only thing black and white here is if you, MHB and others throw away your votes on fringe left candidates, you are electing more RW Republicans and placing more radically RW judges o nthe bench for life.
