Official 2018 NBA Offseason Thread: the preseason cometh

Lakers should hold out for better than PG13.

Yeah. If the Lakers get Lebron, Kawhi, and can keep Kuzma, we're well on our way to Lakers vs. Celtics in the Finals. They should sell high on Lonzo and Ingram and get a good veteran PG who can defend and doesn't need the ball.

Who is a good veteran PG who can defend and doesn't need the ball?

Do you like Kuzma, Josh Hart, Channing Frye, and Brandon Ingram for Leonard?

Or Tobias Harris and the Clippers 12th and 13th pick? I like the Lakers trade unless you can goad Vlade intro trading the 12th and 13th pick for the #2

The Clippers trade is offering nothing.

Heard an NBA "expert" claim that Leonard's camp is posturing after the Spurs refused to offer a "Super Max" deal to Leonard. Apparently, Leonard wants the Super Max deal now, and the Spurs want to wait until he proves he is healthy and can play. He made it sound like the Spurs will not deal Leonard unless they get close to a value for value offer. IOW, the Spurs aren't trading Leonard for Tobias Harris, two middle of the first round picks.

If only they’d made him the PG.

LOL. There was a Point Kawhi era last season.

I think the Lakers have an intriguing young core, but the only team that could come up with assets that would interest me would be the Celtics. They wouldn't even need to include their top 4 players (Kyrie, Hayward, Horford, Tatum).

All the stuff I read last week looked like the Spurs wanted to offer the Super Max now. Just show him the money.

Why give Kawhi the super max when you have dejounte murray

Lol, Spurs aren't gonna trade him to the Lakers just because that's where he wants to go.

Celtics' assets are way better.

Not really sold this isn't anything more than negotiation tactics, though.

The Celtics would have to trade Kyrie or Hayward plus a lot more. Having LMA under contract for a couple more years, the Spurs would have no interest in Horford.

Yeah. I listened to a Spurs fan podcast on this a few days ago when the news was that Kawhi was going to sign the Super max. One of the hosts made the very good point that everybody was over reporting this story because there’s typically little drama from the Spurs.

No. The news on that is clear.
