I disagree with you
#monolithicbloc
yes, I like how Strickland wants to stay "above it all" while taking unprovoked inaccurate potshots.
Show me one post I have ever made referring to the "white working class". Thx in advance.
He doesn't do that...Just ask him...
No. It started with this:Then what are you disagreeing with me about? All I’ve been saying is that Gillum won with support from black voters and suburban voters. You’ve disagreed.
MDMH is full of stereotypes. Poor rural white people, suburban moms. That’s how you narrow the size of a tent and don’t get people to show up to vote for progressive candidates.
Really want for us to be allies, seems like we should be, but you continue with a shitty disengenious interpretation of my POV. Recognizing and fixing an inefficiency (or derilection) in the focus of the party IS NOT going to hurt turnout. Did Gillum's particular campaign change of focus hurt turnout in Florida? You know it didnt. I don't deserve your bad faith.
something something rubes rubes something something
yr welcome in advance
No. It started with this:
This whole fucking time you've just been arguing to death that Gillum actually didn't change the focus of his campaign. It's ridiculous. That's how fucking petty and argumentative you are sometimes. I say that Gillum changed the traditional Democratic campaign focus by trying to actively driveup the black vote, particularly black women, and you fucking grandstand for a 3 day weekend about it because you know a guy who canvassed for him, and you know a lot of suburbanites that voted for him. Somehow that refutes my simple point, which is supported in quotes from his own campaign staff.
Did you dream about me, too? Weird !
Gillum campaigned hard in suburbs. How do you think he won in the big metro areas of the state?
Not according to anything ive read on Gillums primary campaign strategy.
LOL. What did you read?
I’ll compare it with what I’ve read from people who actually campaigned for Gillum.
Well, every article that mentioned his focus on turning out poor and African American voters, particularly African American women, since he didnt believe that the voting base of either of his opponents would switch, but go off I guess, tell me about how Gillum won on the strength of the middle class.
[insert why not both? gif here]
But seriously, I barely know any white upper middle class “suburban” women who voted for Graham. They pretty much all went for Gillum.
I understand where you get your ideas from. Incredulous moderates write articles about getting black people to vote like Jane Goddell writing about primate mating rituals and progressives like you eat it up.
Gillum went all over urban and suburban areas of all the large metro areas in the state and made his case. Look up any of the video from his campaign. He was talking to upper class white ladies as much as if not more often than he was talking to black audiences in black neighborhoods.
I can’t think of anything more dumb than looking at the election results and thinking “that successful candidate must have just ignored the college educated white people in large metro areas who make up a very large part of the Democratic Party.”
Keep choosing MHB and MDMH as your BFFs on the board. It's so becoming.
It's where you started flailing and purposefully misconstruing my argument (white people didnt vote for Gillum?) and you're still flailing by chastising me about using a commonly accepted and understood voting bloc designation. Are you going to honestly say that Africans Americans aren't generally a unified voting bloc for AA Democrat candidates? As if there is something wrong with that? You can analyze it 1000 different ways, but you cant deny it happens, and it happened for Gillum. Thankfully. I mean, whats to deny? Gillum's not a huckster - people can intuit that he's legitimate.MDMH, this is where our argument started in earnest.
MDMH, I want you to specifically point out where I said black voters didn’t show up for Gillum and where you said white voters did.
All the posts are there just find them. This whole argument started because I claimed Gillum sought out support from urban and suburban voters in large metro areas. You claimed he only sought black voters. It’s right there. You can’t deny it. Quit gaslighting us.
...All of this is irrelevant with Trump soaring toward 40% of the black vote.
Bullshit. Time and time again you post bullshit. I never used the word "only". You accuse me of shit that you won't quote because you know its bullshit. I'm as stubborn as you, we can keep this freaking thread going forever.
Yea, that doesn't work, buddy. Rubes does not equal white working class. Try again.
