Elizabeth Warren releases DNA test with 'strong evidence' of Native American ancestry

Bustamante responds, "The facts suggest that you absolutely have a Native American ancestor in your pedigree." Warren is shown nodding.

Bustamante's full report is now posted on Warren's website, along with other supporting documents and interviews detailing her background.

According to the report, "the great majority of (Warren's) identifiable ancestry is European." However, the report adds, "The analysis also identified 5 genetic segments as Native American in origin at high confidence."

Bustamante's analysis places Warren's Native American ancestor between six and 10 generations ago, with the report estimating eight generations. "The identity of the sample donor, Elizabeth Warren, was not known to the analyst during the time the work was performed," the report says.

They still don’t think Obama was born in the US. They don’t care about a DNA test.
 
I mean, I obviously don't approve of Trump calling her Pocahontas, but I also don't really know what she thinks she's proving.

Who is really going to care at all that she is 6 generations removed from her Native American ancestry?

I read this push from her as a sign she is going to announce for 2020 soon.
 
All presidential hopefuls should now have to release their DNA test results. White nationalists will be so confused

Exactly. I'm not sure how this is a net positive to her. It keeps the story front and center instead of focusing on her fight against income inequality.

First RWers complain that she doesn't have Native American blood. Then, when she proves she does, you guys pooh pooh it. What abject hypocrisy!

BTW, at campaign stops, Trump promised to give $1million to the charity of her choice if she does have Native American DNA. Well, she proved it. Now Trump is saying he never said that in spite of the video of him saying it.

Please find any time where I have ever said anything on this topic before.

The test just proved she is not Native American by any common sense definition.

Probably the same thing Obama did when he released his birth certificate-a politically timed attempt to use the rubes' own stupidity against them. Unclear how well it worked for Obama or will work for Warren.

Liberals will remain at disadvantage if they think they can fight conservative lies with basic facts. The only way to fight conservative lies is to overwhelm them by voting. I can’t take a Democrat seriously if they think they can convince Republicans to believe the truth. They haven’t learned the most obvious lesson of the last 10 years.

Those DNA results are not at all helpful to Warren. If a white guy had a single African-American ancestor in his family tree 6-10 generations ago, would you be ok with that person claiming to be African-American on a college application, or in an application for a government contract?
 
In apartheid South Africa if black person had one white great-great grandparent they would be considered colored not black. It made a huge difference.

Trump would love to have apartheid in the US.

Right. It’s a tone deaf move at a time anybody can easily get a DNA test.

I didn’t think Warren had a shot anyway. I think she tanked her chances with this.
