Cuse @ Wake 12:00PM Kick-Off for Homecoming (as expected)

The massive number of season season ending injuries and a freshman QB have made things painful this year. The good news is that a lot of young players have been given valuable game experience. Sucks we are having to go through this but think we will be pretty damn good next year.

After getting a decent lead against ranked opponents WF has traditionally performed poorly. They never seem to keep the pressure on such opponents.

ClintonL68 is spot on here.

Overall the defense kept us in the game early on (even without Basham) but the o-line was hot garbage and Hartman was definitely off today. But if he completes the 1st half wide open pass to Colburn or puts enough air under the ball to Washington down the left sideline it’s a down to the wire game in my opinion.

But seeing as the defense would have trouble stopping a high school team the offense has zero margin for error. And with a true frosh QB that’s a recipe for disaster.
 
Greene will start from day one next year. I hope Burley, Monroe, and Mayes come back well from the knee injuries and we sign a couple of good DB’s and LB’s. We need a deep receiving threat and some help on D. Badly.
 
Will be interesting to see how quickly and deeply Clawson changes our horrendous defense. Since no one has been promoted to DC, my guess is they're all gone and he'll be requesting resumes in December.
 
If I were Clawson I would punt on the State game. If you're nicked up, you sit. If we're down big, you sit and 2nd/3rd string come in. 2 weeks rest for the nicked up, and mini-bye for the starters. Put all the eggs in the Pitt and Duke baskets.
 
Just watched it. Best game the defense has played all year. Held a good offense below their average. They are starting to make baby steps. This is the first time I’ve been really disappointed in the O. Other games where they looked bad were when they had a talent discrepancy. Today they weren’t good against a mediocre D.

Atrocious first half for the offense wasted a good effort by the defense. Offense got it together a little in the second, but the defense lost any semblance of ability to contain dungey. Was a painful game to watch. Defense needs a complete overhaul.

Did anyone else think Scotty pulled up or gave up on that long route when he was open but missed? Hitting that pass would have been a huge difference maker in the game.
 
Hartman did not play well. He is getting hit but also he is holding the ball too long so he gets hit.

Then when he gets hit, he amps up and playing fast doesn’t help. Hell he missed two tds in the first half.

The D is frustrating. Poor open field tackling. Glenn and Henderson are inconsistent. Taylor and masterson are not ACC players.

The OLine is not better than the better d lines in the game.

Beal needs to play more.

Thought the same on Washington.

On a terrible defense I do think Greer has a lot of promise.

Also Mike Allen got some snaps. Didn’t seem to do much but at least he saw the field, I guess.

When we rushed only 3 it was just inviting Dungey to run, way too much room form him to maneuver. Why didn’t we at least have somebody spying Dungey in those situations. Yeah I know it takes a body out of coverage, but Dungey killed us with his legs.

Absolutely !!! He also needs to switch mode to defender when the pass is to be likely intercepted ( in end zone today)

Washington and Surratt have no speed. Same for Bachman. DB’s press up on them and get away with it.
