Ongoing gun violence/injury thread

Ugh it was college night at the bar. Bunch of 18-22 year olds.

The NPR reporter chocked up describing several victims with Xs on their hands.

What a sick price to pay so the elkmans of the world can feel safe.

It’s both. One night my 9 year old heard a noise outside his window. He gathered up his Nerf guns and put them in his bed. It gave me some insight into the minds of gun nuts.

Another good guy with a gun (police officer) dies in a mass shooting.

I guess more of the 18 year olds at the bar should have had guns.

Don't know how to further express anger/outrage. Nothing will happen. Miserable.

Until enough people realize Americans with guns are a bigger threat than South Americans in a caravan, nothing will happen.

I have no confidence it will ever happen. At least not in our lifetime. It's like arguing against a wall with gun nuts, or even a lot of conservatives in general.

Which is funny, because apparently a wall would prevent drugs and illegals from coming in, but not guns.

American politicians, the NRA, and many conservatives fit the classic definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again (nothing) and expecting different results. Or maybe they expect these results, but just don't care. I don't think most people are truly that evil, so we'll stick with insane.

I don’t think they care. The default position is “More guns. Don’t take away my guns. Thoughts and prayers.”

At some point, we need to address the issue of veteran mass shooters.

At some point, we need to address the issue of veteran mass shooters.

We did. The one in Dallas was President Obama's fault (along with BLM). All the other ones are mental health issues that can be solved by preventing NFL players from kneeling during the anthem.

I want be sad. I want to be angry. I want to be ... something.

Instead this has become so routine it's hard to feel any emotion at all. This is who we are and what we have decided we want to be.
