2020 Carolina Panthers Thread

Take out the first three games where he barely got to play, and Moore is on pace for 68 catches for 922 yards and 235 rushing yards. Any sane person should be happy with that from a rookie receiver.

Yeah, I'd say I'm lukewarm on Moore. We don't really use him like a legit NFL WR, certainly not a #1. A staggering amount of his yards are after the catch, and he has not yet proven the ability to stretch the field. I'm hoping that's mostly just due to Cam's arm, and he'll turn into a stud next year.

Also, if Cam's shoulder is really screwed (Andrew Luck screwed), I'd be fine trading him for a couple 1st rounders. Doubt anyone would give us that, though.

How can you stretch the field when your QB cant throw it more than 25 yards in the air?

Gettlemagic is salivating over that deal. Give Cam an entire year off to fully heal while ELIte wraps up the final year of his career, then slide a healthy Cam in with Saquan and ODB in their primes. Sign me up.

No GM is giving a first round pick for a quarterback that can’t pass a physical, even the dumb ones.

See, GMan probably would be dumb enough to do it.

Meanwhile, PCats draft a master distributor in Haskins to get the ball to our weapons, load up on elite young defensive talent, sure up the OL, and win the super bowl in 2021.

You forget you are dealing with the demented mind of 2 & 2, everyone knows that when you can trade one or more first round picks for a veteran quarterback on a non rookie salary that can’t pass a physical and must sit out a year you do it.

Not when trading for a vet they don’t

How often is that vet a former league MVP QB while still in his prime age? I'd rather use that first round pick on that guy who I know has the tools to succeed in the NFL as opposed to using it on the <25% crapshoot that is a rookie QB.

Hell, the Eagles still got a first round pick for Sam fucking Bradford after spending most of his career on IR.

the Giants were excoriated by many for not taking a QB this year. they need a QB, and to give up so much for a QB who you want to sit a year is not going to work well, especially when they then wont' have picks or the salary to build the rest of the roster around him.

The Panthers aren’t trading Cam unless he demands it or someone makes an insane offer. He’s the best player we’ve ever had and has, by far, the most name recognition of any Panther ever.

According to the drooling Gastonians in my section last night, it’s time to get rid of Scam.

Personally I’d rather just sit him for the year to heal up. It’s not every day you have an MVP QB come through your franchise and we’ve been lost in the QB wilderness before.

Agree. Cam Newton is 29. Wasn't long ago that he was the best player in the NFL. He's clearly not healthy right now. Get him healed up, and the Panthers are a contender again. Unless you have a top pick (and even then), really hard to find a franchise QB in the draft.

yeah Peyton and Luck were pretty much dead and each came back to success (time will tell on Luck, but looks good)

2018 Carolina Panthers RIP

Right. Worst case scenario, Cam comes back and his arm isn’t the same. We suck and are in good position to draft Tua or Fromm.

Drafting or making a move for a QB this offseason would be dumb.
