I had a "gay? Fine by me" shirt that evoked similar responses. Townie and I used to wear these shirts to church to troll our youth minister guy.

Crazy to think how far we've come in not even twenty years.

Kelli Ward, the bomb-throwing conservative former state senator and loyalist to President Donald Trump, upended the race to lead the Arizona Republican Party by beating the establishment favorite and incumbent GOP chairman, Jonathan Lines.

In doing so, Republicans from across the state on Saturday chose a more right-wing vision headed into the 2020 election cycle where Arizona is poised to reach battleground status.

What a mess. The AZ GOP has to defend the same senate seat twice in 2020 and 2022. More evidence Coulter and Hannity dominate this party.

Ward's victory is probably not good news for the Arizona GOP, as there are signs the state is steadily becoming more purple. In 2016 Trump beat Hillary there by only 3.5%. In 2018 Sinema won her Senate race against a tough-talking right-wing former Air Force pilot (a kind of modern female version of John McCain, which just 20 years ago would probably have guaranteed a GOP victory in Arizona), and the Democrats also picked up two statewide offices and made gains in the state legislature. The state definitely isn't as Republican or conservative as it was even 15 or 20 years ago, so I'm not sure that going even further to the right will benefit the state GOP.

This could cause the porn industry to boom in the DVD/magazine sales areas. Donald Trump and the GOP might just make the porn industry great again.
