2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

You done messed up, Elizabeth.

It's truly bizarre. There's no advantage to be gleaned via racial ID for bar registration. I guess she self-identified as native american?

It's such a dumb thing to derail a campaign - but I don't see how it doesn't. I don't really care for her, so I'm not sad about it. But this whole thing is clearly a pattern on her part.

She sincerely thinks she’s Native American based on family lore. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that especially back then but she’s consistently handled it poorly.

Yeah, which shows she has bad judgement and plays fast and loose with facts. I think we've had enough of that lately.

Warren wasn't winning anyway. I mean, it was 33 years ago, she got no advantage, and she was probably proud of what she understood to be her heritage. This is not a big deal, but it will likely derail her because racist Pubs and obviously our big dumb rapey President won't stop talking about it.

Aren’t all those ancestry tests based on self-reports anyway?

I don't understand the issue with her putting that 30-odd years ago. It was what she was told by her family, so she checked the box which I'm sure most people here would do as well.

I agree with you from an intellectual perspective, but as a practical matter, she's damaged goods and can't be the nominee to go up against Trump. Which is fine with me because I love having her in the senate as an activist for consumer rights. I just hope she doesn't leave the race too early because I don't want Bernie to be the beneficiary of an early exit by her.

Man here's the deal, 95% of white families in America have family lore that there is Native American heritage somewhere in the family line. It's just something white families like to romanticizes and talk about, still pretty fucked up if you think about it.

0% of those families list Native America when applying for the Texas state bar or whatever that crazy did.

Yeah, I would imagine a response telling Duke to F himself will be coming, if she decides to engage with him at all.

If Gabbard doesn't publicly condemn Duke's endorsement LOUDLY it means she supports the KKK and white supremacy by default.

Her silence speaks volumes.

Not surprising that the KKK is going back to it's roots and endorsing democrats though.

Do you understand that Dems used to be the conservatives and Republicans were the liberals? Teddy Roosevelt was the first conservationist POTUS. He also was the first to try to get universal healthcare and broke up corporate monopolies.

Please, learn about history before making inane posts.

You mean the southern conservatives that have essentially all become Pubs?

Jesus.

WhoTF romanticizes about whether their bloodline has some Native American heritage in it? My mother's side of the family thinks they have some from way back, but I could give a shite whether we do or don't. I would think that for most American families whose bloodline here goes back 2-3 centuries, there is a good chance you have some Native American and/or African heritage. Especially if your family spent any time in the West Indies.

Who knows? Some families give greater importance to these types of things. I personally don't give a shit, but my wife is mostly Ukrainian and she has certain traditions she continues, and it means something to her and she talks about it with our kids. My 9 year old son's teacher just sent us one of his answers to a question about a book, and he mentions it (to my surprise) :

On page 60, Kek prepares for his
first day of school.

‘In the bathing room, I look hard in the shiny glass.

I wonder if I look like an America boy...’ Is there such thing
as an “America boy”? Use evidence from the text to explain why or why not?

There
is no such thing as an American boy because I could be an american boy but I am Ukrainian. I am 2 different things and now Kek is too because he has just moved to America from Sudan. I think it is not possible to be an american boy because no one is 100% American
or Sudanese or Ukrainian

or
canadian or asian etc. We are all world people. We are not one thing.

We
are many...

(dramatic
pause)

Wrong, William McKinley was the republican president that cemented the GOP policies of traditional GOP conservative policies I.E low taxes and limited government intervention in the economy. Teddy Roosevelt was far left of middle for the GOP at the time he was elected and made pushes to move the GOP in a more progressive direction. Also there is a case to be made that breaking up monopolies and allowing fair economic competition in the market place falls in line with conventional conservative policies of promoting fair competition in an open marketplace. FDR was the president that set the modern Democratic platform.

Again the classic splits of conservatism vs liberalism happened WELL before the the Democrats stopped being the KKKs party.
