And a new AD. Listening to Dino tell stories about an "unnamed AD he used to work for" back when he was on ESPN, he can do plenty of neg recruiting against Wake based on some of those stories too.

Like how Dino says he was in a room with him and he starts out "I'm in a room with an Athletic Director and he says to me I don't know anything about basketball, but I know about business and marketing and budgets. Well he was right, he didn't know anything about basketball." I could just see that transitioning into "And hey recruit X, that guy is still there. And look he still doesn't know shit about basketball, look at their record the past 9 years. You want to go play at that school with people who work under that guy, and answer to that guy? You're better then them, come play with us winners."

Seems like that is all he needs to say. Can't imagine an 18 year old recruit gets too far into the "who is the AD" details.

I guess my concern comes from what it could mean for the next coach after Manning, when he starts preaching about a new culture and moving the program back up to the top. The next coach will have to sell joining a group trying to turn things around, and opposing coaches can say don't believe anything this new guy is telling you, its a top-down problem and the top is still as bad as it was the previous 9 seasons.
 
Recruits don't generally know or care about who the AD is - that is not our problem. Our problem is whether Wellman as AD will hurt us in trying to attract a great new coach.

Funny thing is Ron clearly does not know about business, marketing or budgets.

Can you imagine a CEO still around that oversaw a thriving successful bus. Turn upside down over 10 years ago and just letting it bleed slowly with no accountability? I’m not going to even speak about marketing as think everyone would see WF b-ball as exhibit A in how not to market a product. Dino is a better man than realize to put up with such pretentiousness.
 
I honestly didn't even remember the names of our recruits besides the Massoud guy until I read the last few posts.

After Coach Manning is released from his contract on or about Wednesday March 13 I do not believe any of the three recruits that have signed will then be coming to Dear Old Alma Mater anyway. The new coach whoever he is will ask them to release themselves from their LOI because he will not be playing them. Next season might be awfully bad based on having little to no freshmen but it cannot be much worse than it has been anyway. We have been on Well-Man probation for nine years now and counting.
