Guess the date/time of Manning’s firing/resignation

Well, I may have missed some, but it seems like most of the comments I've read have come from the kid of one of those coaches that would be getting fired.

Yeah, Childress knows his Dad is about to lose his job and it upsets him.

Whatever the costs to pay off Manning pales in comparison to the real costs involved in keeping him. Go find the money and get on with it.

This is literally a situation where we can’t afford NOT to fire Manning. Even the most diehard fans have been alienated at this stage and you’d saddle a new AD with an impossible situation. Good luck to Currie trying to raise money or get the fanbase excited with that shadow looming over him.

I TOLD you I have INSIDE information on this. Manning will NOT be fired this year. The university cannot afford the buyout. So, prepare your anuses: Danny Manning will be the coach next year.

Currie himself has stated that basketball is a top priority.

He gone and our anuses are safe.

Why would we fire Manning before Selection Sunday? There’s still a shot we get an at-large bid.

Currie can kiss any honeymoon period goodbye if Manning is retained. He would be walking into a full scale revolt against the ADs office in his first year. Surely he is not that stupid.

This sums up how much WFU's suckitude in basketball has led to my overall disinterest in not only Wake but college BB in general:
Just saw a live news report from WRAL at the ACC tournament, and the thing's in CHARLOTTE!! For real, thought it was back in Greensboro this year.

IMO the high buyout is real and they brought in Currie right now to find the money to get rid of him because the big donors do not trust Wellman. So I think rumors of the buyout being a problem are true and that the money may not be there to buy him out right now. If Currie does his thing, I think he'll find the money to deal with Manning and he'll be gone. I don't see why the timing of the AD announcement would have happened otherwise.

I will go with word leaking out Sunday (3/17) via Twitter with the presser scheduled for early to mid-week.

No matter how young his teams were Dave Odom never had a 20 loss season, let alone 3 of them.

Hopefully this is just Dave trying to avoid awkwardness next time he runs into Manning.

But what about the awkwardness when he runs into one of us? World ain’t fair.

Would like to point out that Danny was asked about the AD change on the ACC teleconference before the press conferences on that Monday.

So, where Dan went "checking around, I confirmed that the question had not been asked of Danny Manning." ... There, um, needed to be some more checking around.

Here's Danny's responses, FWIW (you could have probably guessed them):

Reaction to yesterday’s news?
Obviously for me, Ron is the AD that hired me, so obviously … grateful for the relationship that we’ve built.
But I also understand that he’s been doing it for a long time, very successful and feels like this is the right time for him to retire.
Obviously congratulations are in order and I’m happy for him that he’s at that point.

And it’s exciting at the same time. We’re bringing in a new AD that will come in and will have to implement his own leadership ideas and plans moving forward.
I know a little bit about him from when he was a K-State and I was at Kansas. That kind of familiarity – not that I know him, but I know of him.
I’m excited to spend some time with him, get to know and hear his vision and share my vision for our program, as well.

Credit to Les for posting this in his most recent article. If they don't fire Danny Manning hard to imagine attendance would reach over 500 for any games next year

With over 10mil annually from espn/acc tv coming in is attendance money even relevant
