Game of Thrones - House of the Dragon - (and beyond) Discussion (spoilers allowed)

Here's the thing I don't get about this final season. Everyone always asks who's going to "win" at the end, but all that is is who's on top when they stop showing us what's happening. So what if the final scene is someone sitting on the throne? A week later they could have their head chopped off and someone else will be on top. That's what messes with me.

Just pretend time stops when the show ends.

Anything could happen after any movie or show ends.

They'll probably make the ruler just be someone the Iron Bank installs as a symbol of our corporate society

My guess is there won’t be “A” throne after the end. I think they decide that there is and should be multiple Kings/queens.

My true hope is that we find out it was all Ned’s dream and none of it really happened. People would lose their fucking minds.

When folks ask me who I think will win I say I don’t care, as long as the show wraps up in a way that makes decent sense. If it’s something like Bran waking up from his coma in the last episode they’ll march the show runners and GRRM through the streets like Cersei

what if the real winner of game of thrones were the friends we made along the way

6 episodes is not enough to wrap up everything. It’s going to feel way too rushed, similar problem to last season

What if each episode was over 1.5 hours, resulting in roughly the same number of hours as in prior seasons?

That’d be fine and dandy but tonight’s is 54 minutes long. Pretty sure longest this season is 82 minutes. I know length time is about the same as last season but when last season was easily the worst, that doesn’t mean a whole lot

I was wrong.

Episode 801: 54 minutes
Episode 802: 58 minutes
Episode 803: 60 minutes
Episode 804: 78 minutes
Episode 805: 80 minutes
Episode 806: 80 minutes

Watched last episode from season 7 tonight. Recording tonight’s season 8 premiere. Will watch in next few days.

Oh boy, that 7/7 “dragon and wolf”. Pretty intense.
