2018 NFL Season ends: Patriots win Superbowl!

Jones flaming out will help our recruiting by disabusing people of the notion that cutcliffe is a qb whisperer. Of course he will probably be retired by then.

This is all we need to recruit against them:

Pretty unreal. Easily the worst pick of this draft at a minimum. Can’t even imagine what they are thinking.

Worst pick of this draft? Jesus H, this is the worst pick in the 95 years of the franchise. I like Dexter Lawrence a lot, so in my mind they picked Lawrence at 6 and Jones at 17. But goddammit they could have had Josh Allen (or Devin Bush) and Dexter Lawrence? At least Dave Brown was a starter for a few years, I don't see Jones as anything more than a backup.

Okay even better. We got Lawrence at 6, Baker at 17, and Jones somehow ended up on the team as an UDFA. I'll take it.

Can still wear those PJs tonight 2&2!

Hilarious the lengths your dumb franchise has gone to attempt to recreate an at-best slightly above-average QB

If 2 Super Bowl MVPs and a Hall of Fame induction are at-best slightly above-average, then I hope Jones is the most at-best slightly above-average QB who ever played.

How does the Giants brass not have several other people in the room who can stop Gettleman from burning down the house. It didn’t seem to me they were in competition with anyone else for Jones because the other teams needing QBs liked Haskins and Locke. Can’t believe Gettleman was in charge of my Panthers.

My favorite moment was immediately after the host city Titan's pick, Trey Wingo immediately gets serious and introduces the kid to the world by showing a video of him beating up a woman lying on the ground. THE NFL EVERYBODY!

The Jones pick shocked me as well, but I can only speculate that at the end of the day the Giants pressed Cutcliffe hard and were assured that Jones is "the guy".
Think about it: Cut has coached a few HOF QB's, and has worked out others. There's a downside for Duke/Cutcliffe's rep if Jones goes to the NFL and in particular to NYC and bombs, so if anything I'd see Cut as being cautious with his recommendation, knowing that at minimum he's mid/late 2st round and set for life regardless. So again just speculating, but thinking the respected opinion of the guy who had him daily for 3 years was the determining factor.
One thing for sure, this time next year we'll have a much belter picture of both Jones and Haskin's prospects for a successful NFL career.

To think that Daniel Jones could have opted not to enter the draft. Talk about making the right call financially.

Is Eli a HOF QB?

Of course he is, and it won't be a close vote. He is a 2-time Super Bowl MVP at QB, one of which was probably the greatest upset in the history of the sport, with apologies to Joe Namath. Fans of losing teams throw out the "if you take away those two Super Bowl runs ...", but those two Super Bowl runs are all that matter. You play to win the game.

I kind of doubt that. Haskins only played one year at tOSU and the Washington DC football team has veterans who can teach him about the NFL for a year. Running Daniel Jones out there in Week 6 behind the Giants offensive line would be pretty shocking too. These guys might be starting at the end of the year but I don't think I'd for too mch of an impression of how their careers will work out based on that.

Gettleman and Wellman should be shacked up together to determine who’s the smartest one in the room. Might take a while.

A paltry 4 Pro-Bowls in his long career and overshadowed by much better QBs in the same era. His highest QBR season is 93.6. Tony Romo, whom also won't get in the HOF, started for 9 seasons; 7 of those he had a QBR higher than 93.6 with 2 seasons north of 100.

He won't get in despite the two crazy SB runs.
