Game of Thrones - House of the Dragon - (and beyond) Discussion (spoilers allowed)

In general I find zombies to be lame and lamented the show was building to the zombie apocalypse. So I’m glad that’s not what the show will come down to in the end.

Cersei was right all along.

Episode was awesome. Really disappointed at the whole NK’s motivation and backstory though.

Yeah. The Night King was hella lame. So it's 7 people and a dragon vs the whole golden com?

For a great show, the NK was a bad villain. Like really bad.

Did Ghost live or was the CGI too expensive to show him die?

I assume he died in the opening Dothraki charge. Super lame to have him go out like that.

Also I missed Jons dragon dying. Did that for real happen?

I think we are supposed to assume so, but dont know if we know that for sure

The Dothraki flames going out at the beginning was an amazing scene though

It definitely was, but Ghost went out like a bitch. They green screen in that neighborhood dog chasing down a tennis ball then nothing.

Also the whole Dothraki horde gets swallowed up and Jorah just casually canters back from the front line and stays mounted for like 20 more minutes, c’mon.

I don’t know how that makes sense I’m just glad he’s around
I'm assuming that he fled once he saw the front lines of the Dothraki getting mauled immediately. Assuming he was around Jorah, while starting at the front lines, Ghost would have been mid-pack by the time the charge reached their opponents so he could have easily had survival instincts kick in and left the massacre charge early.

The entire internet freaking out building elaborate theories about the night king for two years just to have it end up like that feels just like our coaching search threads.

I really wish the NK had waited until dawn so that we could have actually seen some of the action.

I loved the episode. Did Tormund and Grey Worm survive?

Yep, I'll say it - I was bummed by that episode - at least relatively speaking. For starters, I could barely tell what was going on for the first 15 minutes, with the whole darkness thing. Then, they seem to have forgotten the dragons. The Dothraki get sent out first with their flaming swords - instead of the dragons that breathe fire. Then they try to light the fire trench with bows and arrows, instead of using the dragons that breathe ... fire. Then the Knight King shows up on his dragon - then he is gone for a while. Finally, he shows up where Bran is ... and then Arya comes flying through the air - despite the fact we last saw her in the crypts. And then I was like "sweet, Arya is going to kill the Knight King ... uh oh, I think he just killed Arya ... wait a minute, I think she may have killed him ... yep, she killed him ... hmmm, OK"

Arya was never in the crypts.

Last week’s episode was better I think. The sheer ambition of this episode was something special though.

I’m glad that we got this shallow little tale wrapped up early, so we can have more screen time for the a villain this show deserves.
