2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

i gotta spread rep around i guess, but well done itc/ph. well done.

I'm all for as many people running as possible, but I'd really like to see this field down to fewer than a dozen by the end of the year.

Very few of them have offered an argument as to why they specifically should be President.

Think we could save some time and just get it down to Bernie/Warren/Pete/Biden. Nobody else really stands a chance including Warren.

If Dems do proportional primaries, it's a real possibility that no one gets enough delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot. How about Joe Kennedy, III as the compromise nominee? :)

This race has been fascinating in that not much as really changed except the number of candidates. The top tier has remained the same in Biden and Bernie, the two who have run for President before. The only change in the second tier is the emergence of Mayor Pete who still has relatively little name recognition. Two months ago, skeptics said it was a boomlet. Now he's comfortably in 3rd, 4th, or 5th in every poll and he and his husband are on the cover of Time magazine. As a result, a bunch of new white guys have entered the race thinking they could get the same bump Pete got without adding much unique to the race.

I'd be shocked if the nominee wasn't Biden, Bernie, Pete, or Kamala, and I'd only bet on the latter two.

Biden thinks this is a winning message.

Good article. That’s the big question and Biden is running in a lane by himself hoping Democrats are fine turning the clock back four years.

But I think Republicans will hurt his argument because Trump will encourage them to take shots at him and pledge not to work with him because they are scared of him.

Royal Rumble is an apt analogy. We know only a few could actually win but they have to throw in some mid-tiers and jobbers to boost the numbers.

As a millennial, I think its a 2 sided coin. Yes, we believe a lot of things should be made easy and are into instant gratification, which is socially annoying; but it's also what drives us. As in, any time we are annoyed by the pettiest of inconveniences the first though is a belief that it should be easier and that a solution is obtainable. It sets lofty, and oftentimes, impractical goals, but I think we would all agree that it beats the alternative.

A promoted post for Beto came up on my FB feed this week. It was about some climate change plan he’s proposing. It had lots of comments so I took a look and it seems like Beto needs to work on better targeting.

That must be the mythical center that Blue Dogs like Beto think they can convert before 2020.
