2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

Looks like the latest polls have Biden back out to a substantial lead

Yeah, but unfortunately, it looks like his gains have hurt Buttigieg more than anyone else. Seems to me Buttigieg is trying to stake out being the in between candidate between the centrist Biden and everyone else who is pushing further left - probably a smart move, but he's still lagging in single digits. Long way to go, but it appears we have established a top 5, and the nominee will most likely come from this top 5. I just don't see 1 of the governors or other senators making a major move if they haven't gotten any traction so far. And I still have zero idea what Williamson, aka Janet Snakehole, and de Blasio are thinking.

I guess Super Dave Osborne is a legit competitor against the guy from The Apprentice.

Why is it ok for anyone to buy the presidency? Shouldn't such an important position go to the most qualified person for the job?

You would think. Given that we live in an age that worships vapid celebrities who in many cases are famous mainly because they are famous, and the preponderance of "Reality" TV series that are anything but, I guess it figures that things like experience, qualifications, background, etc. no longer matter to many voters. What matters is how entertaining and colorful and brash you appear to be. It appears as if the American Republic has degenerated into a bread and circuses politics just like the Romans eventually did.

Harris, after lambasting Biden's position on busing, agrees with Biden's position on busing.

In a tweet Wednesday, Biden deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield knocked Harris for her response, writing, “It’s disappointing that Senator Harris chose to distort Vice President Biden’s position on busing — particularly now that she is tying herself in knots trying not to answer the very question she posed to him!”

It’s intentionally dense to equate a 70s position on busing with a 2019 position on busing. It’s disappointing to see Democrats making these arguments.

Schools are arguably similarly segregated now as they were then. it has always been a highly contentious and fairly unpopular solution among all Americans.

Busing was synonymous with integration in the 70s. Not the case now. White anti-busing advocates were simply pro-segregation.

In fact, segregation is as bad as ever because of private schools, charters, and school choice, specific tools of resegregation. Busing is not a necessary tool to fix it. Busing is like the landline phone of integration.

TLDR: access to affordable healthcare

Being too lazy to read a couple hundred words shows a glaring hole in anything you may stand for. You refuse to admit that you can't destroy 15-20% of the economy overnight without having a process to change it. Taking positions like the far left does helps Republicans and scares millions.

If yyyyooouuuuu defend segregationists online...

You're the one who posted TLDR

"TLDR is an acronym for Too Long, Didn't Read."

So, you are calling yourself a liar? Interesting.

Generally the person who puts TL;DR read the post and is condensing it down. Also, I think it’s fairly clear that MHB was using it rather facetiously to prove a point. I know context is hard and 21st century lingo can be difficult to utilize properly due to ever-changing meanings. You’ll get there.

Don't be a condescending asshole. I fully understand what that means.

My original post was short. His response was BS and lazy. Rather than addressing the simple and easy to read post, he acted like a bozo.

Looking forward to the wall-to-wall MSM coverage on Harris' flip-flop on busing.

Remember... democracy dies in darkness.
