For dinner:
Pok Pok
Por Que No
Chicken and Guns (in this little food truck court thing)
Cubo

For bfast/lunch
Hazel Room
Harlow
Fried Eggs I’m in Love

Also hit up Division Wines, Cascade, Rogue, 10 Barrel, and too many bars to remember. Quarter world was so fun.

oh man, Chicken & Guns is my favorite cart in that little square, the potatoes are so good.
All the bars, all the beers. Can't go wrong.

Still trying to figure out if Domino's Carryout Insurance is really a "thing", or if it's a tongue -in-cheek troll of other retailers' "special" offers. I've been getting carry-our pizza for over 40 years, and to my recollection I've never dropped one or seen someone else do likewise...and many of those pizzas were consumed after copious amounts of alcohol when the dropsies were more likely to occur.

Things are fine.

My wife gets irrationally angry when these commercials come on and makes me fast forward them. This has built up since they started their "well give you points for any pizza you eat, even if it's not Dominoes" BS. We will never have Dominoes again, and only partly because it sucks.

And if you drop a Domino's pizza a couple of times. it's likely to improve the taste.

Was Tiger Woods the first athlete to have a logo designed with his initials? Feel like erryone has one now.

The region exec I work for is leaving the southeast to head to LA and run the Southern California market. She wants me to come with her which has my interest but would be a major leap having grown up on the East Coast and all of our friends and family are here, etc. We also just bought our house in Durham 18 months ago but that can be worked around. I know we have some SoCal lovers on here. What should I know? We have a follow up meeting on Monday to discuss further.

nope, just his hiring on the intranet. If I make it over to China at some point I'll ask to meet the Dong.

Johan Cruyff developed his own brand in the 70s, that looked like a combined J&C, but also kind of like a rip off swoosh.

After the awesome west coast trip I briefly thought of looking at working remote jobs and moving out west. We just bought in DC, and I know we could rent it out and make it work, but also the friends and family thing has me doubting if I'd want to uproot and live out west for long. Remote jobs have my interest piqued though. Would save on dog walking/day care. One of our friends in Seattle works for a company in Australia and keeps no hours with them, works 4 days a week to get 40 hours in, basically camps every 3 day weekend. Seems like a good gig.

I can't remember who it was, but some second or third tier tennis guy had one that was pretty bad, trying to think of it

my favorite is that Ben Wallace has one:

Every time I see Steph's, it makes me think of SportsCenter.

Yeah it’s not something I had considered before but it feels like sort of a one-time opportunity in that it’s just being offered right up to me and I’m not going to job hunt for something out there. I’ll hear her out at least and get a sense for the potential career path involved. Could always just do a couple years and see how it goes.

That's exactly how I landed in DC from Philly. I hit a random "one click apply" link on LinkedIn for a job at a larger company than the one I was working at and kinda forgot about it, got a call for an interview without submitting a resume or anything, they paid for a couple interviews in DC, it was a big step up and we made the move. I also figured if we hated it we could move on pretty quickly, but we came around on it a little and settled here. I'm still not above moving, but also not gonna actively look. Just a curiosity thing. Big wide world out there.

I'm about to go kill this interview for this cool job. But if I don't get it, I might need to seriously look to move. Davis - the Ohio of California, or maybe Boston or Chicago. Feel like I could land something decent in those places, I don't know. It won't matter after I KILL this thing. They are lucky to be interviewing ME.

For sure man. When I moved to DC and later Boston neither one of those places was on my radar at all and both ended up being tremendous experiences both personally and professionally. Gotta be willing to take advantage when these things come out of left field.

Good luck dude! Sending vibes your way.

Nike didn't even air its first national ads until the early 80s. Virtually no one had ever seen or heard of Nike when Cruyff was a superstar. It's not likely he had any idea who that tiny company was much less ripped them off.
