Official 2018-19 NBA Season Thread - NBA Finals Raptors Win #WeTheNorth

everyone can have their opinion or course. i think cp3s game - elevating teammates, good shooter, good defense, playing to strengths — is ideal for winning as opposed to other great players like carmelo, westbrook, etc.

That’s why getting traded for Westbrook is a slap in the face especially because he got traded for not getting along with Harden.

yeah it might be. but if houston ends up as the 7 or 8 seed next year (which i think is very possible), may not feel as bad.

Great post. Took me awhile to finally get there myself.

Kendrick Perkins has a good take.

Couldn't an argument be made that the three players mentioned by Perkins in the article (Griff, Jordan, and Harden) are difficult to get along with and soft. Not entirely on CP3,

Who is Houston going to get rid of if there was stigma between Harden/CP? An aging CP3 or a prime Harden?

Which CP3 teams underachieved?

The game 5/6 CP3 turnover against OKC where he tried to get 3 shots 80 feet away from the basket and just turned it over when the refs didn’t call the foul would be the most famous one.

But then he’s also got game/series winning shots vs Memphis and the Spurs

If Chris Paul didn’t go to Wake Forest, this board would be a b s o l u t e l y shitting all over him and his career. Anyone who says otherwise is simply not being honest.

He’s pretty much universally regarded as an all time top 40 player, so shitting on his career is pretty dumb.

I think it’s laughable he’s considered an all time top 40 player. He’s a very good point guard who was among the best at his position during his career. Period. He shouldn’t be on any “all time” lists primarily due to his inability to win. Like total inability to win anything in college or the NBA.

Yes please shoot me these top 40 lists. CP3 is a great player but not seeing anywhere near top 40. Not sure he even makes a top 40 guards list. Plus He hasn’t even been in a championship series much less win a championship so he will get seriously discounted when comparing to other players where they are close like a Stockton, Pippen, Steph, Isaiah Thomas and could go on and on.

Nah., man. Easy to shit on him, I guess, but his career? Dude is headed to the Hall of Fame, I think. Shitting on a hall of fame career is not particularly a good look. You gonna shit on Charles Barkley too? Karl Malone?

Malone and Barkley had better careers than Paul by leaps and bounds. Right now I wouldn’t put Paul in the top ten of point guards and maybe not top fifty players. He’s a hall of famer but he’s basically shorter Alex English.

Using that as a criteria Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Elgin Baylor, George Gervin, AI, Steve Nash and others I can't think of off the top of my head shouldn't be on any "all-time" list.

That's a silly criteria.

Here are multiple lists that put CP3 safely in the Top 10 PGs of all time:

You're an idiot.

a shorter Alex English makes absolutely no sense. Wut?

*Your

Malone is second in points scored in history and a two time mvp while nearly winning two titles if it hadn’t been for a guy named Jordan.

Barkley is an MVP and eleven time all NBA player.

It’s really not close.

Not much more predictable than Manslow stopping in whenever CP3 is in the news.
