Complaining about who we’d play in a major bowl makes zero sense to me as a Wake Forest fan.

Do you really think bigger football schools get excited about the prospect of playing WFU in a bowl game?

I’m pretty sure A&M was disappointed.
 
Yeah I would love to go to a major bowl and match up against a program who is 2-9 against P5 teams since that Michigan upset.
 
I don’t think UNC is “really bad.” I think they’re an average power 5 team that lost to a good power 5 team and good non-power 5 team. South Carolina and Miami are big names without substance right now.

Spot on. I think S. Carolina is hot garbage and while I think Miami will get better, they aren't great.

The stadium photos from that game will be used by Wake marketing for years to come.
 
For the umpteenth time. There is zero we can get by playing App State or UNC Charlotte ever. Utah State was bad enough. But they can't hurt us like losing to these programs. Play a national schedule that exposes us to the nation. Even with cupcakes. There will never be an upside to playing teams down the road. The public fucks have to play them. We don't.

Not intended to be a smartass question. Who is your ideal non conference schedule?

Boone trip (weekend) was a blast and would have no complaints if we did that trip every 5-8 years (with one or two home games coming back to Winston). I imagine very little money exchanged (no buy game), most likely a sell out at home, and an easy trip Boone for the weekend? Sounds like a win all around. Just win the games.

A Power 5, a FCS and two Group of 5. Pretty much what we have for the next decade. I think we have an open spot for 2021.

Right, agreed. But I guess the question to Mack and you now, is what pool are those two G5 teams coming from? I say App should be in that pool. Mack does not want App, Charlotte or Utah St. Wondering what the preferred mix of G5 teams look like.
 
Keep the G5 teams in the East and that’s money.
