FSU Game Time - 7:30 ACCN

I would guess that live attendance overall at all sporting events is down significantly since 2006. There are definitely several factors playing in, but agreed that ticket and parking prices play a part. $20 to park at the Colosseum yesterday was highway robbery

For me it was Wellman the Asshat and TV. I don’t have to drive 3 hours both ways. Oh, and Wellman was/is an Asshat. The ACCN and ESPN makes it easy to stay home.

And being able to easily watch games in high definition on big screens at home is another big factor That is new since 2006

What I don't understand is when we played BC in 2006 the stadium was pretty much full vs. Last night and Louisville game 24,000. All three games night and all 3 games meaningful acc games. Just don't understand the difference. Is it because football is becoming less popular with all the concussion issues. I agree they should lower ticket and parking. I hope we have a big Deacs turnout for the wuffies and their idiotic fan base.

I think the parking and ticket prices are the issue. Virtually no chance of getting local walk up traffic when it would cost a family of 4 $250+ to attend a game.

Are our prices any different from other ACC teams? Why doesn’t that matter for their fans? Cheaper tickets would be great, but I’m not sure they fix the problem. Just makes it easier for visiting fans.

They have significantly larger fan bases and thus a much larger pool of potential attendees. Most casual fans in Winston are actually fans of other teams.

I know Conor reads these boards. Maybe he needs to look into this more deeply. Is it Wellman, parking, ticket price, etc. It doesn't help the team to play in a half full stadium. This team deserves our support.

Right so cheaper tickets usually means more Clemson, fsu, state, etc fans in the stadium.

Plus last night there was a tropical storm bearing down. Made it through the first half dry but the rain started at halftime and never let up. Can’t blame people for bailing at halftime or not coming at all. We stayed through the end but would have been a very miserable drive back to Asheville if we had lost.

I have a family that isn't nearly as emotionally invested in Wake sports as I am. No way would they sit through that weather to watch a game.

True, my parents are extremely diligent season ticket holders but they live in Raleigh and night games are tough. Either they grab a hotel room (which were expensive this weekend – furniture market or something?) or drive home at 1am. They're retired so I'd prefer the former. Plus with the weather and such, they decided not to make it out yesterday.

FSU made so many mind-boggling bad decisions last night:

- Fair catching short kickoffs against the worst KO coverage team in the nation;
- Failing to give Akers the ball when WF defense was on its heels and banged up;
- Misuse of timeouts;
- Trying a 50+ FG in the middle of a tropical storm;
- Management of the final secords.

Such a stark contrast on how L'ville handled the end of the game last week versus the way FSU handled the game yesterday. Total circus. A shame because FSU has a ton of talent.

If FSU had the ball in the middle of the field the FG kicker probably makes that. They were right on the right hash, so the kicker had to go right to left. It was a tough angle to manage from 50 yds.

Will someone please get Clawson a hypnotist before the State game? He's 0-7 after a bye. We need to try something to get a win.

We went to game with a couple of my friends from Wake, my wife and wife of one of my friends left at halftime to go to the Last Resort bar and stay dry. Even though my wife is a Wake grad and big fan she had no desire to get soaked.

Once they announced as a night game we started looking for hotels, and the options were basically paying $300 for a La Quinta or equivalent or $100 for some super seedy looking places. The closest to Winston with “normal” hotel prices was Statesville and at that point might as well just drive all the way home. At least we don’t have any plans for today.

People have jumped ship due to hoops dumpster fire.

We will have a good number of WF fans, hopefully students too, for NC State.

Just re watched condensed game.

Special teams
High snaps on field goals
Punt returns disastrous

Hinton
Played great.
Up 9-7 desperate for TD he needs to dive and make that catch.

Surratt
Wow. Did not realize what we had last year. He good.

Hartman
Impressive, no turnovers.
Looked much better on the move or roll out. Rolling out, he was money.

Strnad
Fingers crossed. That said, looked like Jacquez and maybe Chase Monroe made some plays.

Greer
He is really good.

Florida State
Terrible. Just like UNC game, we should have blown them out in the first half.

I'll never understand this. Why in the hell would someone punish the other sports programs because of the basketball dumpster fire?

I think most of it just boils down to this. A lot of games (not just Wake) have attendance issues at times and I think you can attribute some of that to technology. With so many games being broadcast these days, you don't have to be Alabama or Notre Dame to see a game on tv.

I am friends with a guy who is a huge Ohio State fan and he comes with me to football and baseball games at times and he is loud and hardcore for Wake when he is at the games. Having said that, he's not going to go out and just buy tickets to the games. He usually attends when there are freebies through work or if I ever have extras.

My reasoning is that Dillon is the kind of work horse back you can build a college offense around. Especially if you have weapons on the outside like we do. Agreed that Akers is a better pro prospect because of his pass catching skills.
