Whatever you want to spend. A Lodge cast iron will set you back like $30. Fancy restaurants that want pans that will last a million years spend like $65. But I’m sure biff’s wife will love it.

Personally I’m glad my wife is the dominant one in our relationship. She’s smarter than I am, and not having to think for myself takes a great deal of stress out of my life. Plus, I’ve found that pegging is a lot more enjoyable as time goes on.

Jim Noble uses those pans in his restaurants. At the end of the night they put them in the oven at 750 degrees to clean them.

Cool! Who the shit is Jim Noble? Presumably someone from charlotte

Noble's Grill, Roosters, etc.

No need to spend that much on a cast iron pan. But I'm sure it's very nice.

We do love our cast iron cookware. Some of it is about a hundred years old. Great stuff.

The sausage king of Charlotte

kind of looks like townie

the sexist joke was tigerswood "FIFY" post changing "we" to "she"

similar to knight's homophobic jokes, the offense isn't entirely in the sexism itself, but in the laziness of the humor on top of the sexism

Funny, typically I only call your mom lazy when she's on the bottom.

I strenuously discussed this with the OBGYN but it turns out they are pretty unwilling to fuck around with babies unless medically necessary. I'm like "it's 1 day? how big of a deal is that?"

also battling the skeleton crew of NYE day/'night - I guess it's basically the C squad on deck and they don't schedule anything except emergencies

That’s funny. We had our first on 3/31/14 because high deductible plan reset on 4/1/14. But my wife was past her due date by a few days... Induced on 3/30.

OBGYN actually encouraged it. I’m sure it would have been different if it was before the due date.

those small banks will be gonezo in five years

the cannibalization of the banking industry is bananas these days

It's going to take a lot longer than five years.

But yeah, the inability to scale technology is tough for them... The big banks pour so much money into it that the smaller banks fall further and further behind.

Same pressure w/ regulations. Easier for the big banks to comply (though they do have more rules).

I will say there are some interesting companies that help smaller banks compete on software... So I don't think they'll just completely go away. At least not in five years.
