Middle East: Saudis Murder & Dismember Washington Post Contributor

President Trump is wrong to engage in the name calling. I think I understand why he does it; it appeals to the same poison that some in this board sell to foster; an othering of Americans. President Trump has done the math and sees that methodology as being the best path for him to continue to lead the county. I disagree with that methodology.

What you are willing to tolerate is who you are.

Reads GTB’s small government statement, double checks Trumps deficit, all hail dear leader no matter the facts.

He has virtually gutted a large number of federal agencies and significantly strengthened the department of Justice.

He has appointed at least one supreme Court Justice who explicitly favors limiting the federal government reach.

I do not want or expect President Trump to pass laws. That is congress' function, and current politics don't make it feasible for President Trump to push major legislation through without a high price.

I agree that the budget should be better balanced, but I'm willing to reason that President Trump has looked at that issue and made a value judgement about how to best use his time and energy.

That's true in a world where there's a choice. I made a choice in 2016 between Hillary Clinton and President Trump. This year, I'll have a different choice. My tolerance of the my preceived downsides of each of the candidates will reflect my values. However, President Trump's presidency doesn't reflect on me as a person. That's putting an outsized emphasis on what voting means.

He’s gutted agencies not because he wants smaller government or has some master plan but because large donors want to be able to do what they want without repercussions and other agencies stand in his way. State department because he’s a paranoid crazy person, EPA, FDA, USDA, IRS because donors can grift easier.

That’s fair but the complete inability of 99.9% of the people in Trump’s orbit (supporters, aides, republicans, etc) to speak out about ANYTHING leaves me with no other choice but to believe you all don’t give a fuck about anything but supporting the guy and sticking it to the libs.

Your (and every other trump supporters) inability to hold dear leader accountable for ANYTHING has been the Trumpist movement’s greatest failure. It very clearly shows that no one is taking anything seriously...but supporting dear leader and sticking it to the libs.

come on knight. get your head out of brad’s ass.

I'm not a victim. I'm an American, just like you. In a political context, as college educated individuals, we should feel an obligation to treat each other with respect.

Not because our individual beliefs demand respect, but because intelligent individuals like us should recognize the importantce of the example we set for others.

I strongly believe in a smaller government. You do not. I try to understand your point of view. I'm going to do my best to treat you respectfully moving forward.

I'm going to say positive things about President Trump. I will criticize some of his methods or policies. However, I'm going to avoid disparaging platitudes. They don't help, but, in fact, provide a crosive tone that has the potential to appeal to negative (but easily fostered) emotions in Americans susceptible to that thought vector.

The way to get a democratic candidate elected is NOT by disparaging voters from the other party. You and I are above that.

You must mean big D Democratic because Republicans disparage Democrat voters all the time specifically to get elected.

Looks like Trump may have killed this dude over Twitter beef. So fragile.

I strongly disagree with how President Trump conducts the presentation of the office of the presidency online. I also disagree with his name calling in person. Again, all I can do is say that, try to understand why he does it, and factor it in to my vote in November.

Just because they do engage in disparaging comments, does not mean that that is an appropriate method to conduct a campaign. Again, I'm speaking out about this negativity because it's gotten way out of control. It's actively eroding our democracy.

I’ve engaged with this board almost daily for close to 4 years now. Aside from your posts today, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you disagree with Trump.

Setting the hypocritical bullshit aside, the fact that GTB seems to believe that trump is as calculated and analytical as he’s suggesting is wild to me.

He was elected president in a race that 99% of America thought was already decided before he even entered it. The man is smart. He may do some dumb things, but being really good at something, being smart, and still doing dumb things are not mutually exclusive.

Then speak up son.

Call the White House, call your Republican elected officials. Tell them to stop tolerating the President’s divisive rhetoric. Hell, call on other Trump supporters on here to stop supporting his divisive rhetoric.

Killing Soliemani doesn't stop the "imminent attacks". He wasn't going to lead them himself. The next guy in line has worked with him for twenty years and can easily carry them out.

By killing Soliemani, the levels and numbers of attacks could easily increase.

Nothing is going to change when the president of the United States is running around calling 55+ % of the country human scum.

I've done it in the past. I don't post on the tunnels often, but I think my last beef with President Trump on this board was either his continued support of Justice Kavanugh or President Trump not getting the votes to repeal Obamacare (but he did expose the Rhinos for the cowards they were/are).
