There is no better fast food burger, nay, potentially no better burger in the world, than In-N-Out. Shake Shack can't hold a candle to it.

There is a Cookout directly on the way to/from the spot where I take my dog to daycare. V tough to not pull in occasionally for a quick snack or shake on the way home.

The distance between Wendy's and Cookout is the same as the distance between Hardee's and McDonald's. Burger King sits on a lonely island.

Not on the list: JitB, Steak n' Shake, In-n-Out, Shake Shack (limited footprint), Dari-o (not outside of NC), Five guys (no drive thru).

You mean the one on S Tryon ? You're trying to move from "LoSo" to closer to your golf course ? Man, that's a long way.

Also, CookOut bought that site in 2007. Talk about patience.
 
Wendy's is great, but I get a burger every 5th time I go to Wendy's and then quickly remember why I get the chicken sandwich the other 4 times.

Still gives me chills. I ain't from around these parts. Back in 2000 when I rolled in, I was like, "corn dog for a side? sign my ass up."

Have many of you ever eaten at Bur-gur King? Well, I was just driven past one. And while I know their market cap is $7 billion-plus, I realize I am unfamiliar with their offerings. Is it popular among your peers? Is it... enjoyed? And their selection consists solely of these burgers of which they are presumably King?
 
I've been inside one Cookout near Oxford, NC. It was really nice. Still felt super awkward. Drive-thru/walk-up window only.

I’ve been to that one quite a few times as it’s directly on the way to Kerr Lake from Durham. It used to be something else I think which is why it doesn’t have the traditional drive-thru only setup.

in terms of the the patty or the whole burger? i honestly don't understand the hype around in-and-out burger patties (they're overcooked and pretty meager, imo), but do like how the burger tastes as a whole and animal style fries are simply unrivaled among fast food restaurants
 
haven't had in and out, whataburger, etc. enough to put them on the list

the meat at Shake Shack is far superior to any other fast food joint. but I do love the whole package with a double-double Animal Style. In n Out's fries also suck on their own but they're p dece Animal Style.
