I’m at UNC right now for their annual Clean Tech Summit at the Friday Center and their WiFi login screen had the message about “Condition 1” and I was like oh shit sounds serious. And of course it’s totally meaningless.

I bitch about this a lot (maybe on here, maybe in real life, I'm not sure), but how they do our leave is so anti-worker. It was always confusing, but kind of terrible, so there was demand to make it clearer, and, big surprise, they took that as a challenge to just fuck us over more.

So there is zero incentive for them to call a full snow day. They can call Condition 2 for a foot of snow, which means we are prevented from coming into work, but are forced to take vacation/other leave. Those fucks down at the BoG or legislature or wherever thought the previous Chancellor was a little too quick to pull the trigger giving us snow days where they had to pay us without us using vacation, so I guess they showed us! Don't complain and just take it. But of course it's all good because in every email they tell us that our safety is their biggest concern. Bullshit.

We should organize, but of course this is a right to work state. Fuck the man.
 
Now they just called Condition 2 starting at 4, which means I will be forced to leave work and take vacation, essentially, or figure out a way to make it back up, lest I get a chunk taken out of my paycheck. Only out of concern for my safety, of course.

Stay safe everyone. Never forget they are trying to fuck us. Yes, you too. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take. them. down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.

Students at Wake and other university in America are always complaining about something. If the university can do something to make students feel better about their place on campus and revise its place in history I guess that's good.

isn't 15-20 min is a pretty normal refractory period for someone under 50
