ALL PRAISE JOHN CURRIE FOR ACTING A YEAR TOO LATE

Is firing Manning and wanting a homerun hire an out of touch with reality position? Damn. Excuse the shit out of me then. I want WFU to have a good basketball team again and I wish we had people who could make that happen. And I had to laugh when you called me a fucking front runner because I'm a Wake Forest Fan- I'm the farthest thing from a front runner that you could be.

Perfect.. Your good man, you're exactly correct..

The tweet from Wake Forest athletic director John Currie dropped at 7:16 p.m. on Tuesday. It was a retweet of Wake Forest’s main twitter account announcing that a Wake Forest student currently isolated in a residence hall had tested positive for coronavirus.

Currie’s response was typical of these times. He encouraged university leaders to keep leading. He pleaded for social distancing, which he hoped could lead to a return to normalcy so sports can entertain us all again.

The tweet also unintentionally summed up one of the most distinct trends in college athletics to emerge from this most unusual time, and perhaps forecasts a sign of things to come in the future. Currie had been among the athletic directors in college sports expected to make a college basketball coaching change during this cycle. But at a time when there’s so much uncertainty on college campuses, the typical whirl of coaching movement this time of year has slowed exponentially as schools address more pressing issues.

By the time basketball is scheduled to start again in October, there could be more openings. There are still potential reverberations from the federal basketball investigation. Plus, an athletic director like Currie, who hasn’t said anything publicly on the fate of coach Danny Manning, could still make a decision if normalcy somehow returns the next few months. That looks more unlikely with each passing newscycle.

HOW DARE HE not know that the NCAA would cancel this year's tournament. JERK

It just shows even more how incompetent he is that he didn't fire Manning at any point in the prior 10 months since this thread was started because of lame excuse after lame excuse. This is completely on him. You snooze, you lose.

Currie has fucked this whole thing up, just tell everyone Manning will be back and get it over with.

If Currie had done it your way, we would be paying an enormous buyout plus a new contract with much less conference payout and without the guarantee that we will even have a season for the new hire to coach. While I wanted him gone well before this year, I’m not sure the current situation supports your position like you think it does.

Just tell everyone he’s coming back, everyone needs clarity. No good is being done the way Currie has handled this whole thing.

Seriously, Danny Manning sucks as we all know and Currie is making him even worse by kneecapping him indefinitely. We all know he is coming back, so just Man the fuck up and say it and maybe Manning can go get a recruit ranked number 400 instead of ranked 600. Currie has already fucked this up, but is making it worse by just leaving Manning to twist in the wind. Currie doesn't want to do this though because he knows what little fanbase he has left is going to go apeshit , but he is certainly doing Manning no favors.

But Biboy, Strick, 2&2 and others want it and they want it NOW!!!

Who gives a fuck about being rational or reasonable? They want it NOW!!!

At least give them their blankies.

So much attacking for a man who never attacks first. It's almost like he's trying to cover over the fact that he made up a Tier 1 source, guaranteed everyone something was going to happen and then stopped responding to anyone about it when it didn't.

The players dont know, recruits dont know, grad transfers dont know if he’s coming back but sure let’s keep it quiet and leave Manning hanging like the lame duck he is. Only Currie knows and he’s fucking this up, way more bad than good is being done. But sure RJ you keep thinking that Currie is being rational and reasonable. shit or get off the pot.

If Currie was truly fucking up, everyone would "know" and there would be multiple stories getting out.

There would almost as many stories as sides you've taken on this.

But but but RJ’s tier 1 sources said Manning would be fired a day or 2 after their ACCT loss... oh wait and bigboy’s source said Manning would be back... ahh shit sucks to be wrong RJ, just take the L and move on.
