That being said, considering people can die from the virus in addition to being hit, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a lower number of mafia and a higher number of civs.

So, having not been around most of the day, it is hard for me to get a feel for how the flow of the day went. So instead, I decided to try and figure out how the virus works. There isn't much information at this point, but there is some.

There are three likely methods of transmission: Virus (or infected) votes for someone; Virus (or infected) is voted for by someone; or Virus gets to choose victims.

Gouda has died. Gouda was not voted for by anyone. So that eliminated option 2 completely. There is no way to get any information at this point on option 3 (though any watchers/trackers may have some info). That leaves option 1, which is scary. Gouda voted for PH day 1, who had four other people with him (Mako, Ryala, Damo (dead), Eagles). Day 2 saw Gouda on SD3, along with five others (Rommy (dead), ryala, Jman (dead), QT, and Eagles). Gouda voted for Blue on Day 3, along with Rommy (dead) and Duff. I doubt COVID kills instantly, so I don't think day 3 votes are that important here.

The virus did spread on night 1, meaning that if it is a vote related power, Ph could very well be COVID. That doesn't necessarily explain night 2, though, as the virus spread, but no one voted for either Gouda or PH at the end of Day 2.

In short, fuck this shit. COVID sucks.

One thing related to this that I hadn’t seen anyone mention yet was that, while we may have lost our beloved cheese from kansas, it appears that some people got cured. Therefore, there is a cure out there. Whether it’s random or targeted is an open question.

I'm actually down with it. Only thing that doesn't make sense is that if the indy is COVID and wins with town or mafia so long as everyone gets infected, weird that Ph would self-preserve there.

Only other bern thing I noticed was day 1 when Knight had 5 votes and no one else had more than 2, he made a comment like "It doesn't help to have a lot of people with 4 votes" then moved his vote from Knight to one of the people with 2 votes to put Knight at 4 votes and someone else at 3. It was really weird, but like, almost too weird to be a mafia move.

I’ve also thought about this. But then again, I watched Gooner ask Chatzy so many questions in dead chat last game and in my mafia chat in another game he modded. And he PMed me rhetorical questions when he was the Indy in the Covid game I was modding.

I think he just likes to hear himself talk. If I could ever bring myself to truly God mod, he and Da would get to be masons and would only be allowed to post once each day for 10 straight days.

I had the data in front of me and was working out the conclusion as I typed it up. The other option is that it works both ways, which means that Gouda could have gotten it from Ph day 1 and then given it to SD3 day 2. The other option is that EVERYONE that voted for PH day 1 was infected. But that seems very shitty, and also only one person dies, so it would have to be some sort of percent death factor to it. I wish I had a better conclusion out of the data, but that's what I've got. It sucks that Beads got AA'd, because his information would have been a huge help.

If it's not something simple like virus sends a name each night, then I like option 6. I don't think it could be dependent on the indy quoting somebody, because that would be way too easy for them to spread it. Plus the thought of mods keeping track of who has quoted whose posts seems ridiculous.
