C9++ Mafia Thread - Day 3 ends at 1:30

I enter a mafia chat with Numbers and Gouda and I'm like...

But then Eagles goes god mode on Gouda and Gooner survived D1 with weak claim, and then DA draws the inv instead of me.

Such a fucking dagger. One of the best mafia squads I've ever been on and Eagles ruined it

Lol yeah... I HAD to try and get you riled up. I was over the top though, so I'm definitely the worst.


The player talent in this game was too much. If I had a few berns in this one, I could have possibly flipped it.

Everyone was too logical.

I just ain't gonna go down like a bitch. Have to try at all costs to win and salvage the game.
 
gotta say the eagles/gat hit on gouda day 1 is...wildly impressive

Lol fair. I was deliberately trying not to get into a screaming match. Had some stuff typed up multiple times and deleted it. Didn’t want things to devolve.

And totally agree about the talent level. I struggled with my vote D1 because I looked at the player roster and I wasn’t going to vote for 14 in his first game, then realized, “shit I think I’m the worst player in this game, this is going to be a struggle for me to survive.” And it was, I got lucky that both Eagles and rommy were Civ at the end there.
 
Dang, lots of games this week and me not free to play most of them.

I can’t tell the difference in dick mode TiC and regular TiC.

only thing that remotely gave me pause about deac14 was him going from being like "is being coached good" to "no, we have two potential setups based on RNG" and 80 words of advanced logic in like five pages
 
Also SK gets BPV over Inv Immune almost every time and I’ll die on that hill

Now that we can put all the BS aside, i'd like to get thoughts/reactions on the Gouda hit from a +EV, -EV perspective without the benefit of hindsight.

I was serious in that i had a slight vibe on him based on tone. I also had a civ lean on Eagles based on tone. Eagles saying maf lean on Gouda obviously reinforced that but the real question is whether, without knowing the outcome, it was +EV for the town to hit there.

I read it as an easy cred move on Gouda's part and figured a civ special wouldn't do it. That logic is a bit compromised by the fact that Eagles was a civ special and did it seconds before Gouda.

I was assuming, worst case, that it was a nilla.

Was it reckless?

lol I knew that was gonna be an issue. At first I was trying to just banter and be normal to make clear I was a vanilla civ, then I rapidly switched gears to trying to be helpful/figure it out myself. I realized afterwards the shift probably messed up my image.

The tone helped. As Eagles said in the COVID game, the civ read is earnestness. You seemed earnest. Not defensive.
 
i would have been afraid in the 50/50 of the eagles/gouda stack seconds apart on mako that i'd get it wrong and make the risk averse move of not hitting but i have absolutely no idea if that's + or - ev
 
I made a commitment to not being as manic this game and posting less and then I look and I have triple digit posts, damn it. I need to re-evaluate some things clearly...
