I’ve recently had to start using conditioner in my hair because it’s getting so fucking long.

You... didn't condition your hair before? The routine is to condition regularly and style with a pomade.

And on shaving, you need a nice shaving lather. And no, you cannot use the creams that come out of a can. You don't need to go all the way and need to mix soaps every time, but at least use something midtier like Cremo that isn't awful that you can work into a lather on your face. Obviously need a nice refreshing aftershave as well.

Basically, be a better man.
