WF Basketball Transfers (In & Out): Jalen Johnson (UT) IN !!!!!!!!!

That's what I think, too, but the NCAA, man. Anyway, it would be huge (if we get Williamson) for both of those guys to be eligible.

Can Dubose handle the ball at all?

I feel like both of those guys have a decent shot even without any special waivers. Wilkins got pushed out and historically those have been granted. If Williamson picks Wake, his coach left and he’s moving home.

Both way better cases than someone like Chaundee.
Plus they can both likely use the coronavirus and wanting to stay close home too. That is almost certainly going to be an "unofficial" transfer exception this season.

I think he can handle some. He considers himself more of a pure scorer. His video interview with Jamie Shaw was good, seems intelligent and a really good fit for Wake overall.

I'm excited for Massoud to drain a couple 3s in a row and NOT get immediately benched...That was one of Danny's many idiotic habits. Kid gets hot, TAKE HIM OUT.

I have the feeling Massoud averages 10 to 12 a game for us next year. He was criminally underutilized last season, in my opinion.

So much this.

Nice that Jay and Creamy are joining the bandwagon. If Neath has a good year, he and Massoud will be the leading scorers. I wouldn't be shocked to see Massoud near 15ppg.

In his highlights, it looks like most of his scoring is done off of the dribble, so it looks like he has pretty good handles. Not sure he is much of a distributor, but it definitely looks like he can handle just fine, and can get into the lane and to the bucket off of the bounce. I think he is going to be a pleasant surprise and play a ton of minutes, especially since it appears he is a very good rebounder for his size.

Williamson is the preferred option behind Neath at PG. Adams is listed as a PG so he may be able to play minutes there. Lester is a PG as well. Keep in mind, there is a new coach and new system. Everyone will have a fresh opportunity to make an impression and earn minutes.

DuBose seems better suited to play on the wing. His ability to rebound will be needed. If Williamson gets a waiver, I expect to see him, Neath and DuBose on the court together periodically.

I think we’re underestimating Quadry. That kid is going to play 7-10 MPG at point guard when Jah is getting some rest. He’s a good player and I think he’s going to surprise some people. At this time, Dubose is going to play SG for at least 20 MPG, probably close to 30 if he can. We need to grab Williamson so they can split minutes with each other at SG. If Wilkins can play, we’ll be ok at small forward with the addition of Antonio. And obviously we need to add a center if we’re going to be able to really compete in the ACC. Ody and Tariq are great, but they won’t be able to succeed against bigger matchups, like Florida State seemingly every year.

Nice interview Jamie Shaw did with Dubose. He seems like a really good guy. Glad we have him at Wake. Need a few more players but excited to see what Forbes can do. Went all in with him when I saw his introductory presser at ETSU. A lot of positive energy and winning attitude.

not with this team. :)

Although one year, Wilt averaged 48.3 mpg. He went to games by bus and train and commercial planes, but today's guys can't play more than 38 mpg traveling in charter planes and having personal trainers.

Brian Snow ranks the Top 30 traditional transfers...

https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Top-30-traditional-transfer-rankings-147556822/

Notable:
#1 - Olivier Sarr
#7 - Mac McClung
#10 - Landers Nolley
#21 - Daivien Williamson
#23 - Bo Hodges
#26 - Chaundee Brown

I am shocked that Chaundee Brown is all the way down at #26. I'd have had him a heck of a lot higher. All due respect to Williamson (and Hodges), but I'd have rather had Brown back for this season than either of them. Obvious caveat to that is that it is 1 year of Brown vs. 2 of Williamson, so it's kind of apples and oranges. But I don't think the article looks at it that way given a number of sit one / play one guys are ranked very high.

Chaundee is Top 10. Snow has no clue...

Y'all gotta remove the OG&B colored glasses for a second. Chaundee averaged 12.1 points per game on a 13-18 team that finished last in the ACC and missed seven games due to injury. He was solid for our team, but nobody on our team would have started the year starting for a decent NCAA team. Sarr would never have had a chance to work his way into the starting lineup on a decent team that didn't lose two rotation bigs to Achilles injuries right off the bat.

Agree. Sarr is #1; so, it's not like there is some anti-WF bias. BTW, got to disagree with one point, Sarr would have started for a lot of "decent NCAA teams", he's was the second best center in the ACC behind Vernon Carey, and Sarr's probably going to start for a top 10 team next year. I'm guessing that Brian Snow spent more time breaking down Drake, Rice and Rhode Island games than anyone claiming his rankings are worthless.
