WF Basketball Transfers (In & Out): Jalen Johnson (UT) IN !!!!!!!!!

Updated minutes projections:
1- Neath(32)Adams(8)
2- Dubose(26)Antonio(10)Adams(4)
3- Muscius(20)Johnson(12)Massoud(4)Antonio(4)
4- Massoud(22)Muscius(10)Tariq(8)
5- Ody(24)Tariq(6)..….10 minutes from transfer to be determined

Cut down the damn nets

I think you have it pretty close tho. My best guess is it will be something like:
1) Neath(34)Adams(6)
2) Dubose(28)Antonio(12)
3) Johnson(22)Massoud(18)
4) Mucius(30)Massoud(6)Tariq(6)
5) Ody(28)Tariq(12)

I'm sure Okeke will get some run too if we don't get a big in the portal. Let's get another big please

Also Williamson getting a waiver would be a huge load off of Neath's shoulder at the point (assuming Adams isn't ready for the ACC) but I think I would rather have Daivien to save a year so he can be apart of Forbes year 3.

Massoud, Mucius and Neath each need to play 32 mpg.

I don't understand why you keep putting Massoud at the 4. I would like to see him on the wing where he should and will be.

If WF plays the "5 out" offense that Forbes used at ETSU, there really is no "4". It's essentially position-less basketball with a lot of motion and reading the defense, waiting for a double or a sagging defender to leave an open shooter or an open lane to the basket. Given the lack of WF's inside scoring options, would expect to see a lot of "5 out" offense next year, which would mean that Massoud would often be the tallest or second tallest guy on the floor. So, in that offense, it's OK to designate Massoud as the "4", but he will be on the perimeter, along with everyone else, and looking to take advantage of his range or an opening to the basket.

Someone will need to defend the opponents PF. By the end of the season Massoud was better than Mucius in that role.

Keep in mind that Forbes actually teaches defense and spends the majority of practice improving team defense. Roles may change based on defense alone. Playing time may/will be determined on defense. Minute projections might look laughable when the season begins and as it progresses.

I thought it was Danny F’ing Last, because that’s where we finished with him.

Man, pretty bummed we never could get any traction there, especially with the kid heading to Virginia Tech, of all places.

Oh well

Interesting. I thought VT had used all of their ships for the upcoming season; at least, someone reported that when Mac McClung first entered the transfer portal... Guess Coach Young found a way around that.

Once Kobongo officially became medically unable to play, that scholarship was open. actually, he's still on scholarship but it doesn't count against the limit. With 3 transfers, VT is suddenly a somewhat experienced team. Roster is still unbalanced with 8 guards but they will likely start 3 seniors at times. NIT is a possibility.
