Good time to throw a zoom wedding and throw up a big ole registry

When you move to a larger place and think "hrmmmmm, now there's room for a massage chair" the other day and don't tell the wife, then the wife says 5 minutes ago "I'm thinking of things we could put here......ohhhhh a massage chair"

I thought that gif was from The Departed for a long time, until I re-watched Anger Management not too long ago. Pretty decent movie, as far as Sandler goes. Maybe the last one before he went off the reservation.

How many folks register for china anymore, like 1% of couples? Even if you decide you have to have it, you probably won’t have room to store it in your newlywed tiny apartment and if you do, you could get full and better quality old sets for super cheap from yard sales or thrift stores.

we didn't register for any but my MIL had been buying pieces for my wife her whole life. we now have all of it in our house and thankfully have enough cabinet space for it and crystal but haven't used it once. we have like 12 settings and I wonder if we'll ever use it. we also have a cabinet full of Spode Christmas china, which we do use a lot during the holiday season.

it's going to be tough if we ever move and have fewer cabinets. we're spoiled now.

We bought a set from a thrift store before getting married. But we did register for some crystal to go with it. Kicking myself for that since those are near unusably fragile. We force it out maybe twice a year for holidays.

I floated the idea of a gift less wedding. Did not go over well despite my wife not really caring about "things." She said something like I've been to a lot of weddings and given a lot of gifts. Our registry was very simple though. Useful rather than anything fancy.

On the china side mother in law gave wife her mother's. It's nice and all but a pain to pull out and pack away. MIL gets upset if it does not get used. Last time we had family over wife and sister were considering pulling it out (despite their parents not being here) and finally decided not to but the guilt they felt was crazy.

Man. Rookie mistake there. Never assume your wife doesn’t care about “things.” There may be a thing or to she doesn’t care about. But she definitely cares about “things.”

We got married right after buying our house so it was a great way to get primarily kitchen essentials (KitchenAid mixer, a couple Le Creusets) that we’ve never had and would really never buy for ourselves.

i'm not sure sandler "went off the reservation," dude seems as grounded as ever and is just making a shit ton of money off of dumb lowest common denominator movies with his friends. he's sorta living his best life i think?

though that's the frustrating thing as a viewer, i think, about uncut gems-- it's clear that the dude is still a really fucking good capital-A Actor, but hard to fault him for taking the easy money if that's what he wants to do

if plama's apartment doesn't look like a Sharper Image mall store combined with an arcade then I'm gonna be disappointed

Yeah, I guess I meant "off the reservation" as far as caring about making a half decent comedy.

Thinking of collecting old Lego System sets on Ebay and getting 2 of each. One sealed for collectible purposes and the other for decoration.

plama gets to the airport a few minutes earlier just so he can spend time in brookstone

I should be buying $1,000 artist collab sneakers instead?

palma is dead. Cancel culture and my old nickname do not go well together.
