Redskins Name Change Thread

That's why he said it should have happened years ago.

Sure DCFT can beat the Panthers when we're down but DCFT is always down. The Panthers have more Super Bowl appearances in the last 20 years than your team has playoff wins.

Right. We make fun of them now for having to half ass an interim name because they refused to change the name until sponsors forced them to (which should have happened years ago). If Snyder actually had backbone he would have done it long before the money threatened to stop coming in.

If they did it right, no interim name is needed, you know, like every team that rebrands.

The Washington Whatevers make up for the lack of fans in the stands with massive merch sales over the next 12 months: Redskins stuff is a hot commodity/get it while you can, "Washington Football Team" will be presented with numerous styles, fonts, etc. on every conceivable item, and then they do it all over again when the new name is rolled out.

They are a $3.5 billon organization. They aren’t going to do a complete rebrand overnight because a blowhard on the internet thinks it was “half-ass.” They have dropped the name and imagery which seemed like an impossibility 8 weeks ago. They are rightfully taking time to rebrand. Surely you understand that can’t happen in a matter of a few weeks.

A $3.5 billion organization should've had a rebrand ready to roll out over night, as it's been obvious for years that they would need to change the name eventually. Of course Dan Snyder would fuck this up and not have anything ready. Any competently run organization would've had this shit ready to go.

Or you could do this instead

Yet you won none of them and the nameless football team in DC has 3. You don’t want to play this game.

All three were before the Panthers franchise even existed. C’mon man.

DG3 chooses all the best hills to die on

Yeah, I love it when socially inept white people bitch incessantly on the internet and tell other ethnic groups what they should be offended by.

Please, my great white saviors, forgive me for I have sinned.

One of us here is playing grievance politics

Seems to me, DG3, that this was a simple case of free market economics. No amount of SJW whining was gonna make Snyder change his mind, but FedEx could. Just a savvy business play.

Doesn’t change the fact that they somehow were unprepared for something that was a generation coming.

Bragging about championships a billion years ago is what losers do. Like state fans.

At least we know the one DCFT fan who actually brags about his team.

The irony of fans bragging about Super Bowl APPEARANCES is almost too much.

But... as Wake Forest fans, it’s built into our DNA.

Carry on, boys.

Panthers fans can only really brag when we're talking to DCFT fans.

You can, but we’ll be in the other room at the adult table with the Lombardis. We’ll all pretend to hear and smile while you sit in your high chair and argue Super Bowl appearances with the Lions and Bengals.

So basically your daily routine on OGB. You’re used to it.

Were you even alive when they won those Super Bowls? I was for all of them. And I was Skins fan at the time because there wasn't a team in NC yet and Synder hadn't bought the franchise yet. So you're talking shit about championships you probably don't even remember to someone who celebrated them.

What’s cooler - bragging about your social skills on an internet message board, or bragging about championships that are old enough to run for President?
