If they go with that, the pronunciation will need to be something like "sent-nuls." Or else the melody as well as the lyrics would need to be redone. I can see the lyrics rewrite. Has happened before. The melody, not so much. Team will probably want to maintain some ties to the past.
 
Given the current state of Pub politics, how about harkening back to their predecessors, the Know Nothings?
 
Now that the NFL is being called Washington Football Team, maybe Dan Snyder should call the guys from America for the new name.




Neither Dewey nor Gerry would confirm or deny how they came up with their biggest hit. They just smiled when RJ asked them.
 
I doubt anybody had Washington NFL and Charlotte MLS essentially choosing the same name.
 
You guys do know that it’s temporary and that a complete name and logo change will take months? Washington Football Team sounds silly, but what do you expect a week before camp? They clearly want the rebrand to be done the right way with fan, community, and alumni involvement.

That said, Washington Football Team memorabilia will be awesome in 10-20 years. In like 30 years, they’ll wear these unis as throwbacks.

They are a $3.5 billon organization. They aren’t going to do a complete rebrand overnight because a blowhard on the internet thinks it was “half-ass.” They have dropped the name and imagery which seemed like an impossibility 8 weeks ago. They are rightfully taking time to rebrand. Surely you understand that can’t happen in a matter of a few weeks.

That's why he said it should have happened years ago.

Sure DCFT can beat the Panthers when we're down but DCFT is always down. The Panthers have more Super Bowl appearances in the last 20 years than your team has playoff wins.
